I've been fishing with Tenkara-Rods for 6 years and i've seen so many videos about Tenkara Fly Fishing, but I enjoy your videos very much, 'cause they are honest and close to reality and the waters where you fish remind me of my waters here in Austria. Greetings and best wishes from Austria, Willi.

Beautiful lake and another great video TA, thanks for my Saturday morning fix. My Brother and his wife are camping on the St. Joe River CdA (panhandle) as we speak. I'll get there this summer. Watch you next week!

It gets even better. At the head of this drainage there is another lake and just over the ridge to the west from it another. A great 3-4 day loop hike is possible.

lake tenkara fishing is one of my favorite. Contrary to you i look mostly for shalows cause yellow peacock bass like to chase that areas for minnows.

Dude! Loving the channel! Just picked up a Tenkara after using my friends on our last trip! Can't wait to use it here in California! Keep up the good work!

I think you're correct! I've caught some of my biggest fish within 15' of the Lake bank. Since trout are territorial they will protect their space ! You're kind of hunting the fish with that tenkara fly rod. Great video .

Looks like a wonderful spot to camp. I think maybe some b roll of your drive or hike into your fishing spots would be enjoyable to watch.

I also visit a lot of these places on my main channel, SUV RVing. That's a good place to go if you want more footage of the kind you mentioned. Thanks for watching.

Awesome....it must be neat to live in an area where you can get so many different species/subspecies. Here in Louisiana, I've been fishing the headwaters of the rivers that drain this area, and catching a lot of what I thought were spotted bass; but I noticed they look a bit different from the spotted bass I see in videos in other areas, etc. I was reading about a new species that was identified in the Florida Panhandle - "Choctaw Bass". These bass I've been catching fit the description - no way to tell for sure without DNA analysis, but it's cool to think they might be part of this new species,m or perhaps a new one of their own....they're pretty fish - not big, but great fighters.

Choctaws are black bass with slight dorsal and gill differences; hard to identify, but lovely

Great video! I loved every second. Never tried Tenkara but this summer I and going to purchase a cheaper pole to test it out!

I tend to go between letting the fly fall and sit still or actually moving it very slowly. When it works moving it slowly helps in strike detection.

Nice lake. I'm not a tenkara fisher but if I was fishing here I don't think I'd be prospecting in the deep water, I'd probably spend more time fishing the drop off that was shown early in the video. Like another commentor said, the outlet stream looks worthy of another visit, I'd agree with that.

What fly are you using? I tenkara fish lakes and ponds where I live and a CBC bluegill special popper or a olive drab wooly bugger have been working great for me. I cast the popper out and let it set then with small twitches I bring back or with the wooly bugger I cast out and slowly retrieve it back. Thanks and GOD Bless you and your family

Excellent video as always. Just curious of how far you had to hike in to access such a pristine mountain lake? I know you’d never reveal it’s location and I’d never expect you to- I just want to get more into exploring remote small creeks for native cutthroat (in Colorado).

In my several year of experience fly-fishing out west, it seems most fishermen never hike further than a mile from roads. If you start fishing at the car, you are unlikely to make it much further than a mile, anyway. A half-hour hike before wetting the line, meant I could catch fish immediately, on most streams.
