When I was a kid I would always be in the ditch with my friends catching fish, turtles and crawfish. I had so much freedom to walk in the woods and throughout the whole ditch. Nowadays I do not see ANY kids out there like my friends and I used to be. It's actually pretty sad.

Thanks Chris. Nostalgia is an amazing feeling indeed. I grew up close to a little league field with (what I called when I was younger) a lake behind it filled with fish, snapping turtles, etc. Now it's nothing but a dried up marsh.

Great video! I'm likely the oldest one here, I'm nearly 40. But I want everyone to respect the fish, water and land. Because if we don't nothing will be left later on. Keep on fishing 😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Tried this a few days back in a local creek that seemed like the perfect place for a fishing spot, gave up after a half hour when I had zero bites and kept getting snagged on beaver dams and other crap.

Great comment on respecting our recourses and caring for the fish. I don't think a lot of people know how long it takes for bass to grow. They grow slow! 🇺🇸

I recently broke my ankle and I would normally be fishing about every day during the summer. I was also supposed to go to the boundary waters and do some fishing. Sadly I am unable to fish very easily or frequently this summer so I will be resorting to binge watching fishing youtube. Keep up the quality content man!

I've caught a lot of creek fish, and they were likely scared off by a treble hook, even though that water is not pressured, they are very finicky sometimes. Hot dogs and crappie nibbles work wonders here. And that spot with the carp in it looked really good IMO, when they built that up they likely left the creek flowing and fish still swam through the pipes. So i would give that a shot.

I've got two of those Lightning Rods over a decade old and the foregrip is separating in both. They really have a great action though. I use them with baits that don't require sensitivity.

I agree. Like the ponds that I fished 3 years ago , you literally could catch a few 5lbers every day and at least 20 fish. Now with all these kids getting into the sport you can barely catch 2 if you are lucky. Even the rivers and lakes are getting so pressured.

Back in my early days of fishing in upstate ny using a 30 inch pole I loved catching native brook trout which had bright red orange bottoms in tiny creeks. During March while fishing in the esopus creek up from Phoenicia ny or catskills mountains I saw many huge rainbows swimming upstream to spawn.
