Hello! Welcome back to another video ladie and gentleman! We are heading down to Hayling island - Sandy Point. This is a little video of the ins and outs of sandy point. What you can expect to catch and what baits to use, it’s a tricky venue to fish and you can only fish it over low tide. Preferably over a neap tide. It is only fishable for a few hours, and can normally be fished from low tide onwards. It is a deep channel mark, with water up to 80ft deep!! As you can imagine there is some big fish to be had at this mark, including Bass, tope, smoothounds, congers, bream, stingrays, dogfish and I’ve also heard of plaice! I hope this video can help a few of you out and you enjoy this edit! Please leave a comment if you have any further questions which I may be able to answer! Thank you for watching

Another great video full of useful information , 1st time we ever fished Sandy Point was on a monster tide and we spent most of the night either sitting on our hands or hauling in half the Solents weed , still ended up producing my second largest smoothound and a few weeks later produced my PB that still after 10 years I haven,t beaten ( 13lb 9 )

Thank you!! Yeah you need to make sure you catch it on the right tide, neaps are always the chosen ones, we were fishing for 4 hours and could of carried on longer in this tide! Nice pb to have, I need to beat my 12lb 😅

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice in the video. I fished Sandy Point for the first time yesterday and had my first ever smooth hound, on prawn. Only small but gave a good fight. Problem was the weed as it became un-fishable about an hour after low tide once the flood started.

Yes, it needs to be fished from low tide onwards. You won’t be able to fish before then. An ideal tide is a 1.5m low and the next high around a 4m tide or less!

@@ST-sx2bs Wednesday you should get a couple of hours fishing. They are not the best Neap tides. If you use the Royal Navy tide times it show you the % of spring tide it is. Look for 5-20%. I think Wednesday it is 45%
