Fishing Canyon Creek/Lower Canyon Creek/Arizona/catch and release

This video is a follow up to the upper Canyon Creek video. This part of the creek holds mostly Brown Trout, and is a catch and release fishery, requiring single barbless hooks, flies and lures only. I spend a day and a half covering the creek from the O.W. boundary bridge, to the Fort Apache Reservation Boundary. Fishing was slim, but i did manage to catch a 16 inch Brown as well as a couple of smaller ones

Hey Sheigh, Thanks for the great comment. I use a spin fly..its a black wooly bugger with a silver blade, single hook. go to Mepps.com and search "spin fly", youll find different ways to dress them and you can order for about 5-6 bucks each. the pole is cheap..it's a zebco slingshot. the reel is a Pfleuger president 20..its a true ultralight and it works great with the 5 foot pole. If you used Fly Rod And wet fly you would NOT miss most of those bites. Just a thought

hey Charles, thanks for watching..fly fishing this part of the creek would be best, but it would be a funny video watching me try to use a fly rod. i put in a small comment at the very end of the video about how much better it would be to fly fish this part of the creek. thanks again..Charley

Is that public access? or are you on private land?

its public land on one side of the creek by the bridge, but really its public land to the high water mark both sides of the creek. down at the lowest point of the creek in the video, it does become reservation land. thanks for watching.. Charley
