Definitely looking like a return trip should be scheduled. Also you should get together with Jiggin and/or YACPAC. All 3 of you are awesome in your own ways.

Nice adventure! And the owl was definitely the star of the show... Living in West Central Florida many years ago as a 10-year-old I slipped into a farm pond that was drying up from a drought. By daybreak, after having managed a 30 bass stringer (skinny fish), a great horned owl swooped down and grabbed my Dalton Special. I managed to bring him to shore and take him home. I built him a cage and ended up giving him to a neighbor that was a falconer. He trained him and used him for demonstrations at public schools for the next 20 years.

I agree man, I don’t think it’s worth losing two close friends over some business decisions. I feel like if they all had a serious friend to friend conversation, they could squash the beef, or whatever you may want to call it. I just want everyone to be friends again :(

I completely understand that feeling, lot of crystal clear lakes back in Washington state and it was always so hard to figure out where to fish, it was all just grass so distinguishing structure fish would hold on to was tough. Clear water bass tend to be a lot pickier too, such a frustrating way to have to fish, but it can be really rewarding.
@SeekerDurnarus Жыл бұрын
Love the fishing blog style. Challenges are fun but just out fishing is something you don’t see much anymore. Miss you kayak adventures. Go back and watch a lot of the old stuff just for you time in the kayak

Over my years fishing , I’ve notice that when there’s Hydrilla in lakes that you have to fish the pathways in the Hydrilla , it’s kind of like pathways for the smaller fish , when you do this the predator fish use this highway to ambush bait fish . Love fishing weed less in Hydrilla , big baits , big fish .

FYI, that was a $300 10' kayak, great little starter boat for someone who isn't sure he wants to kayak. Great for ponds, creeks and small lakes, weighs about 47lbs. 🎣❤️👍😊🎣

You're right on about not knowing how deep it was with those plants underwater. My old pond in northern Cali was 20 feet in the middle but my 6 foot tall self would be kicking the water grass while I waded in place. That is a minimum 14 foot tall in the middle, it was 100% spring fed that came out the ground on the property and better than any bottle water or tap anywhere.
@zachbarnes7883 Жыл бұрын
I went to lake McGinnis near Oxford in wisconsin, it was very similar to this lake and how the bottom was grassy everywhere. However my grandpa caught a few using a live worm with a bobber and i caught a couple big ones with a top water frog. I loved watching this video and seeing how a legit fisherman handles different lake ecosystems like this

Yep, great video, but every time I see a southern U.S. based channel talk about the "amazing crystal clear water" of some rare location down there, I just think that it looks like almost every lake in Michigan outside of the city metro areas!
