Find your self a good fisherman in the states who targets flathead catfish and go for a trip when you’re able! They fight very similar to wells and have a very similar personality. Flathead will even on occasion hit lures as they mostly feed on live prey. Plus they grow to over 100 lbs! Feels like a bus falling down a cliff on the end of your line lol.

Some nice Cats landed, liked the comment about putting waders and coat on when handling the Cats, I have done this for years, winter or summer, I wear a Vass waterproof jacket as the material is the same as their waders and doesn't remove the slime. Tight lines.

wow over here in germany anyone getting after big welse say you have to use catfish rod and reels plus a ton of diffrent setups that involve leds of 300-2000grams and have to be most of the time, set in by boat or by using a second rod and do not forget lines that have to hold like 80 pounds
