Nice video Dan,great action.they can really pull hard,we used to fish for them back in the day.one day we caught two that weighed in at 100 plus and our biggest weighed a little over 160 pounds.

Sorry, I'm afraid I don't. My rods are either new and not something I give away, or they are old and broken. I don't know where you live but around here you can find rods at garage sales and flea markets for the price it would cost me to ship a rod! You don't have to have an expensive rod to fish! Heck you can find a rod for $20.

You absolutely have a chance of catching them from shore however it's very difficult because you can't drive around with your electronics to locate them first so basically you got to play the patience game. I've seen plenty of people catch them from shore so it's definitely doable!

Hi Kurtis, thank so much! I don't know what rigs we used specifically in this video but my personal Sturgeon setup is a Okuma Convector CV 30DLX reel with a Shimano TDR 8 foot Medium Heavy fast rod, model TDR-80MH2B. These are glass trolling rods and they're perfect for Sturgeon fishing! They have a ton of flex so you don't tear out the octopus hooks when they thrash like crazy or take you on a 100 foot run in 2 seconds lol!
