Geniune Hero8 battery expanded, 2nd geniune battery was not expanded at all, tried using it but it still froze on me on 5second mark of recording. Tried a third party battery. Namely TELESIN, currently on 30mins of recording while writting this comment.

Wanting to switch trolling batts to lifepo4, but can find no info on using them in winter.... sitting in the boat overnight, they will definitely drop below freezing, but I need them to work WELL possibly before the temp gets above freezing. Anyone have first hand experience with this?

At about 9:00 minutes in, you said the bolts were opposite. They are right hand thread ( they remive by turning them counter clock wise) but they are upside down from your view at the back of the boat. If you were to lie down, looking up at the bolt heads, you would see that they are still "lefty loosey, righty tighty. Just be glad yours weren't seized in place. I jyst spent about a week working, tapping with a small hammer, heating and soaking mine in penetrating oil. ...I didnt want to be lieing on my back drilling and tapping a broken one.

I have Hero7 Black v1.90 firmware and it freezes often. GoPro has not improved the software since Nov. 25, 2019. Some people have suggested SanDisk Extreme Pro microSD 256GB memory card might have an issue. I reformatted the memory card but issues continue.

I'm pretty sure you can charge batteries that are connected in series with just one charger, but that charger will have to match the total voltage. So if you have 2 batteries, 12v each, connected in series - then you can use a 24v charger to charge them both at the same time. This is pretty much how battery pack in my ebike works - 10 sections, 3.7v each, connected in series, gives 37v in total, so you charge that battery pack with a single 37v charger.

@@fernandog.1575 if you got him in series you're probably 24 volts to the starter so yeah that's not good. You want those batteries to be in parallel. You did this once or you've been doing it all season?

@ pretty much I just bought the boat without me noticing that until now. And somehow one of those batteries is swollen like balloon on the positive side I’m even scared to unplug the old battery wires. I’m thinking on redoing the whole electric wiring but I don’t even know where to start. I literally opened the electric panel, looked at the spaghetti of wires, closed it and walked out… How is it that these people had the batteries is series to crank the engine? My boat has 4 batteries 2 12v to run the electronics and 2 12v in series to crank the engine. Could that also be the problem if my engine doesn’t burn the diesel adequately? I see some diesel on the water when my inboard engine is on.

I know this is an older video, but you seem to be the only source of info that truly has all this compatability figured out. I have been researching if my Garmin 93SV is compatable with a LVS32 setup (for Crappie)it is a echoMAP™ 93sv PART NUMBER010-01391-02 Not UHD, I don't think it is Chirp, maybe an original model. It DOES have a Panoptics port, and a RJ45 connector, but maybe for original Panoptics? And not Livescope? Hopefully someone sees this and can advise... I am finding conflicting info in searches. Thanks

At 4 min it sounds like you can tell when each individual battery is charged. I dont see where or how? I only see one charge meter, one charged status light, and the fault lights. I cant see where you can tell individually what battery 1 is, what battery 2 is, and what battery 3 charge status is. There’s only 1 fuel gauge

In 24 V configuration each 12 V battery will charge without disconnection the cross over cable using a 3 bank charger like you are using?

This is very misleading, it is easy to replace ALL the seals in the tilt/trim cylinder with just a few basic tools and there’s plenty of info on line relating to this. This guy probably runs a marine repair shop. Just sayin!!

Sub'ed w/a bell. .. 25:35 - Keep in mind, the trolling motor battery, batteries, are TOTALLY separate from the Starting and or House batteries but can be charged from the same charger if it has enough "banks." I understand Dan has a 12v TM but some owners have a 24v or 236v TM's and could be running 1-3 batteries just for the TM. . Another note, with modern trolling motors it is a good idea (should be mandatory) to unplug the TM cable (plug connection up front on a bow mount) when charging the TM battery otherwise it can damage/destroy the circuit board in the TM. I want to install a charger on my semi truck (12V system 4 batteries connected in Parallel) New batteries (Lead Acid) go low after using a bunk Webasto heater for 7 hrs in NY State winter. Do you know if I can charge them while running the heater? Will they accept the charge while being used?
