Fishing for Paddlefish in Montana, episode 1. In this video, Marcus Hockett, Dale Evans and David Samallow drew keep tags in the draw. Joining them is Marcus' dad and brother who also drew tags. So with 5 keep tags in total, there is plenty of fishing to do. In addition to paddlefish, there are plenty of other species that live in this river that can be caught.
On only his 5th cast, Marcus snags into a huge paddlefish. But hooking into one is only the beginning, getting a 90 lb fish up onto the bank is a real challenge. Dale snags into one shortly after but it gets off. Keeping after it, he is able to hook back into another giant. They hope to cook up some paddlefish steaks that night along with any other species caught.

Love that spot. Can be extremely good in that bend, especially if the water is flowing relatively high. In the lower flows the males stack up in there pretty thick. The only place I have hooked one on the very first cast and also two consecutive casts in a row! All the same day. Very hard to land them there though. We keep a Gaff handy for keepers. Can be an adventure getting back out of there if its raining!
