Man, I’m telling you, you, more than anyone else has made me finally realize how critical color is. For some reason it now clicked in my head! You are still probably my top enjoyment on crappie fishing! Thanks for the “Quality” you bring.

Thanks so much! You are so right about the color! There are days when I'm fishing with other people in the boat and we can be using the exact same jig with a slight variation in color and one of us is catching them nonstop and the other is watching the fish chase and then turn away. Then an hour or two later the fish decide they want a completely different color and we have to figure it out all over again. Hahaha, it's wild trying to keep up with the crappie!

I get so relaxed watching them😁 I'm still gonna get me a LS set up, but building a new house now, and its costing a lot more then we planned on. Hopefully this summer I'll be able to pull the trigger on LS. God Bless and keep them videos coming....👍

Great job once again. We've been catching some nice ones on Caddo between deer hunting but not the numbers like your trip on this day. I haven't got a LS on my little boat but in the next few days I'll be getting more serious in the good boat. I'm finally done with deer hunting for the year. I miss having a fishing buddy on D'Arbonne so its really nice of you to share your trips and remind me what a great lake it is. Thanks James

Thanks so much! I have some family that have been doing pretty good at lake of the pines over that way also, but nowhere near the numbers from darbonne. I'm getting ready to go chase some largemouth bass soon, which I'm honestly not great at so hopefully I get a few figured out....if not I might be releasing a blooper video soon of what not to do, hahaha. Good luck out there on the water now that deer season is wrapping up!

Excellent content! I've had my LS for a couple of years and have learned much from others on YT and my own trial & error. This is one of the best vids I've seen in terms of capturing the content on LS and explaining what you are doing. Thanks for taking the time to go back and add the commentary after you've shot the video -- this is extremely helpful!! Thanks so much! I love those hightlights too, wish I had them while I was out on the water lol! For 90% of the year I use a 1/16th oz jighead with a 1/16th oz split shot weight about 8-12 inches above the jighead to help it sink faster. In the springtime when the fish are < 8ft is about the only time I take off the extra weight. For plastics, I go through all kinds of colors/shapes/sizes but here lately it's been 1.5 inch tiny stuff or 2+ inch paddle tail jigs. Good luck out there!

@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos 6 ай бұрын
@@user-oz9hw4zh3k I actually had the exact same problem over the summer! Would go out to Caney lake and could hardly see the screen some days. I wound up adding a scotty mount (similar to a ram arm mount) on top of my portable box between the box and the screen. Now if the glare gets bad I can just adjust the arm that holds the screen so that it's in a spot without glare. Going to make a new "my livescope setup" video one day soon to show the changes I've made for the pontoon boat and the new ram arm on top of the portable livescope box.

I think a lot of us have been fishing since we were very young kids. For me, the trips out with livescope make me feel like a kid again and kind of of lets me rediscover fishing all over again. It just completely changes fishing and makes even the slow bite days fun. (or the no-bite days hahaha)

@@HighQualityFishingVideos - agreed. and im thinking id definately use this for winter fishing for crappie... maybe even striper where the fish are not going to bite unless you bounce that jig off their lips... which without livescope is trying to do that blind.. with livescope.. the odds are wayyyyy better. lol. Great video!
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos 5 ай бұрын
@@hammerdown3876 Oh man, I reeeeeally want to go fish for some hybrids/stripers soon before it warms up - while they're still in the deeper water. The lake I usually go to for that is on a draw-down year so haven't been able to get a boat in to go chase them. I made a video last year where I went out striper fishing with livescope and used a rattle trap, you could watch a hundred big stripers attack it all at once on the screen! One of the funnest days of fishing I've ever had! Around here, if anything is moving or making noise it gets smacked by the stripers. Can't even count the number of times I've had 3 or 4 hooked up all at once back when I used multiple poles. Even had two on the same line a few times when I'd use those double-minnow rigs - those were some battles on a jig pole lol!

@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos 4 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for watching! In May you'll be looking for post-spawn fish and early summer patterns. On Darbonne that usually means mid-depth timber, brush piles, and docks. To be honest I don't really have any go-to spots for that time of year because the fish get so spread out you have to just look around and figure out what they're relating to that day (if anything)!

Thanks so much! I don't know any guides personally but I do know there are some that take people out there. I bet if you made a trip to one of the bait shops in Farmerville or gave them a call they would have a recommendation for sure. There's also a facebook group called "lake darbonne fishing report" and lots of locals on there that may know too. *If you have a boat, this time of year you may not even need a guide or electronics. Just head out to the main channel and drag some shiners around the edge of the channel bottom until you get snagged on structure, then reel up a few feet and load the boat! Good luck out there!

Great video . A question ? Do you feel the thump every time the fish bit or do you set the hook when the fish chasing the bait.
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos 4 ай бұрын
I definitely don't always feel the fish hit, especially if they swim right at the boat after the strike. Being able to see what's going on in the screen is a game changer as I used to have to watch my line like a hawk to detect those sort of bites.

I mostly fish out of my crappie boat but would like to start using my pontoon boat. My question is, how do you anchor on a spot with your pontoon? Do you use an anchor or use the spotlock on the trolling motor? My pontoon blows around a lot. Thanks
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos 6 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching my video! For the pontoon boat, I only ever use the trolling motor spot lock when I'm fishing now, but do keep an anchor as a backup and for safety reasons. For the trolling motor, I use a 24v minn kota terrova and it holds the pontoon boat near-perfect in winds 10mph or less. Have not tested higher than that but I imagine anything over 12-15mph and it would push me off of my spots (and run my batteries down quick).

I notice you been using the GPSMAP 1022 for awhile do you like it or would a GPSMAP 943 would me better trying to decide which one to buy
@HighQualityFishingVideos
@HighQualityFishingVideos 6 ай бұрын
So the big deciding factor for me on the GPSMap1022 was the fact that it had physical buttons and was NOT a touch screen. My buddy that I fished with had a touch screen for livescope and had lots of issues with it being off after your hands got all slimy. It also messed up the screen every time you'd go to adjust it. Having those physical buttons and not having to worry about water on the screen accidentally pressing stuff makes for less worries on the water for me. Good luck out there with whatever you decide to go with!
