Walleyes stay down and tug, pike do short burst runs, salmon is tug of war and bass and trout go all over the place, with jumps. Would love to fish Niagara , with or without my boat. i should be getting out on the bar out front of the river mouth this fall

Hi LakeRipper, where did you park your car? How far is the spot from your parking?
@LakeRippers3 жыл бұрын
Hey, parking is just across from the whirlpool golf course and the wooden stair case is just west from there. Not far. Depends on where you park but only like a couple hundred meters or so. There are a few areas you can park but the all cost money to park. Have a good day…!

Never seen anyone catch anything from that first spot. .... are there any fish upstream of the whirlpool?
@LakeRippers3 ай бұрын
I have never tired upstream beyond the rapids where the jet boats cant go. I have seen people go that way though and heard people have caught fish that way. I only have gone downstream all the way to pebble beach. I've had some good luck with it.

@@LakeRippers thanks. Surprising. I ask because I figured it would be a dead zone. That is an area sandwhiched between the falls, and the whirlpool rapids. So anything that exists there would have to either go over the falls, which is likely deadly, or swim up the whirlpool rapids, which is difficult, for little apparent reason. All that's beyond the whirlpool is more class 6 rapids, and the falls. But there is a calm bay before the rapids, but that's it. I figure either it's a trove of fish that almost no one hits, or it's dead.

@@JayS.-mm3qr Yes long long time ago like over 30 years ago we were able to fish right under the falls. Lots of fish until population of tourists increased and areas get closed off.
@JayS.-mm3qr3 ай бұрын
@@LakeRippers how did you get under the falls? There's no paths near there, as far as I know. That would be an amazing place to fish. If there are fish there, it would seem to suggest they are going over the falls and surviving.
@LakeRippers3 ай бұрын
@@JayS.-mm3qr Back in the day we would be able to go down the path that takes you down from the maid of the mist. There would be tons of fish that swim up from lake Ontario. salmon, bass, trout. That was over 30 years ago. Now they blocked it off and changed the name to the horn blower as well as more Niagara falls attractions have grew. Very few places to fish now.

Theses are great! Might take the wife and daughter out there today so this was extremely helpful. Best part of the minor accident video was "she caught a rock, and in the butt"! I lol

Was it a goby the first small fish ? if I were you I would had not threw that invasive fish back into the water.
@LakeRippers4 жыл бұрын
Ya I realized that.
@joemacfadyen65226 жыл бұрын
Don't throw the Gobies back into the water ! They eat all other fish's egg's and stop the population of all types of fish. Either throw them on shore or kill them immediately. Seagulls love eating them Lol.
