i was arguing with my dad the other day about whether or not it is possible to wade the channel side of the south jetty in northeast Galveston. Which I think is this spot. And I have not been to that spot in a long time so I couldn’t remember. Dad was was saying it is just as dangerous as San Luis because of the ship channel drop off and I was arguing nah no it’s not you can wade because the channel does not drop off immediately and, as one can see in this video the ships are like a mile away. So though I haven’t been back yet I am also asking Mr. MDLR or anyone else if they think it is dangerous to wade there? I mean, I wouldn’t be walking out past belly button depth of water anyways. And I saw one of the older MDLR videos from a couple years ago wading here or wading east beach maybe close to the jetty that I had searched up. But I could not gleen if he was wading channel side or beach side from that video which was maybe from a couple years ago.
@MDLRFishing2 ай бұрын
I do wade the base of the South Jetty during the flounder run. It’s on the channel side but there’s a big sand bar that protects the area that everyone wades.

On May 15th , A barge slammed into a bridge pillar in Galveston on Wednesday, spilling oil into surrounding waters and closing the only road to a smaller and separate island that is home to a university, officials said. There were no immediate reports of injuries, although officials said one person on the barge was knocked into the water and quickly rescued. Maybe , thats what your seeing ...Maybe

Do you ever collab with other fishing youtubers, like using the go live together feature in the app? Like, I'm not asking if you will do it, I'm asking if you have anything against it in principle, collaborating with other channels who also do fishing. Anyway, great video! 🤠

If a content creator I know is at the same location I’m at. I cordially greet them and quickly catch up on current happenings. Trying to collaborate is logistically awkward and aligning schedules is difficult.

@@MDLRFishing Logistically awkward... I feel that. Alot of places I try to stream from don't have great 4g/5G signal, so my stream kept stuttering... When it works its great, but I find it difficult to get livestream to work properly. For regular videos I think it would be even harder.

I sold it after a few months. It’s not designed for our shallow water and oyster. There was no way to install a jack plate on it. And it couldn’t be push poled correctly no matter how hard you tried.

How come u can jig with a medium heavy rod aren’t u suppose to use a medium light rod for light lures
@JoshuaHalter-b5v3 ай бұрын
It’s better to use a light due to sensitivity, but in an area like that you need backbone to get them in. Goes to show you how good of a fisherman he is with a limit on a medium heavy with lures lol.

This rod is designed to use lures when fishing the rocks. It truly is amazing.

So a medium heavy rod can be designed to throw 1/8oz or smaller lures without sacrificing casting distance or sensitivity?

@@soysaucin any rod can be used to do whatever the user wants to do with it. If it works, how can it be wrong. Stick around and watch the videos as I drop them. I’m sure all your questions will be answered as you watch.

Unfortunately most every trout that gets thrown back actually dies. Texas needs to do away with size limits & say maybe keep 5 of whatever size you catch & you're done for the day.

That’s such unbelievable BS. Learn facts or learn to fish before saying crap like this
@nozrep3 ай бұрын

@nozrep3 ай бұрын
furthermore, the size limit is specifically and indisputably because the trout do no spawn until they reach a length of 10-12 inches. This is a well established and indisputable biological fact discovered by fisheries scientists over a hundred years ago. That’s why the minimum size is 15 inches to make sure they get several spawning cycles.
