Nice video! Looks like it was a wonderful trip! Can you explain why you always fish from the boat ramp? It is a very long lake. I'm sure it is easier to get to the bank at the boat ramp, but are there other spots worth fishing? Also, can you do a short video on how you built your rod holders? It looks like PVC and a long metal rod, but I'm not sure where to buy a rod like that, and how to secure it to a PVC pipe. Also would be interested in your bike trailer. Did you build it or buy it. Please give some details on how it was made, and how you load it. .. Thanks so much! 🐟🐟

Thank you for your comment, we like the boat ramp because there is a lot more room to walk around, the other spots you have to hop around rocks, although towards the power plant depending on how much water they let in, there is some low areas to fish at times, but might be muddy and you might need boots or waders fishing there, so that's why we like to just make the extra walk to the boat ramp, it's about 15-20 minutes by foot, or about 10 min by bike. Speaking of bike, this is the trailer we bought, this is our Amazon affiliate link amzn.to/49wmaCB , and disclosure As an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases. They have other brands too. At 1:08 you,ll see there is a metal ledge, so he also attached a large PVC pipe and a thinner PVC Pole with cable ties and bungee cords to put our fishing poles/net and then he stabilized them with several velcro straps till the top. Then bungee all our stuff down and make the trek up and down the windy bends. Hope that helps! Wishing you had a wonderful weekend!

Thank you Suzy. Yeah I love the weather in So Ca but the rest of it is a deal breaker so that's why I left. I can't handle the insane traffic and no place to escape the masses. It's not the So Ca I grew up in coming from Orange County, Tustin area. There is no such thing as pay to fish up here, another deal breaker. Have a wonderful Holidays and keep that rod bent!!

Suzy, that large trout you caught was a brown trout not a rainbow. I hope you gently returned the brown trout to the water unharmed bcuz the state doesn't plant these, they are wild. Let them go free so they can multiply for years to come. Oh no!! After finishing the video I saw that you kept the brown trout. Every experienced angler will release ALL brown trout. You mentioned that it was a brook trout which it is not. Brook trout have flame orange, white and black on their belly fins. Very noticeable markings. Please get a chart of the different trout species so you know the difference and PLEASE release ALL the wild native trout. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your comment! Yes we didn't know, I guess I'll be studying the websites some more. I usually pick up the local angler magazines which identifies the local trouts, and where to catch what fish in certain local lakes, I'll have to study those better. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Have you gone fishing lately or anytime soon?

Suzy, I'm up in the PNW where I'm fortunate enough to have fishing waters within walking distance of me. Lots of lakes and rivers very close by so the opportunities are endless. I was born and raised in So Ca and grew up my entire life fishing every spot in the Sierras and still do but now I have to fly there. I have a condo in June Lake that I call home base when I'm there. I love the areas from Bishop to Bridgeport for fishing and exploring but I just can't live in So Cal anymore, I'm sure you can figure out why lol!! . Anyhow, brush up on the trout species and remember to release the wild ones. Always fun to watch your videos. Have fun!!

Oh, how nice! I wish we were fortunate enough to have fishing nearby. Unfortunately, the options close to us are limited, and the few places we’ve tried are either farther away or require a fee, and we haven’t had much luck there when we’ve gone. It’s great that you still have a condo in June Lake, it must be wonderful to have that connection to such a beautiful area. I completely understand the appeal of moving out of state. We’re Realtors, and many of our clients have been doing just that. However, all of our family is here, and I absolutely love being able to garden year round, so moving out of state isn’t in our plans. That said, I can see why so many people are drawn to areas with more space, great value, and all the unique charms different parts of the country have to offer! Thanks again for your fishing tips and hope you have a Fantastic Day!!
