Winter time isn't really the best choice for fishing these canals, but they have a lot of big zander and perch in them. I fished there in the summer and caught alot of them. Try the bigger canal at central station... Also you should know that it is kinda a sport in Amsterdam to throw unlocked bikes in the canals, so that's where you get stuck.

BUSTER SIXTEENNINETY Yeah I live in Amsterdam and want to start fishing, but I have no single idea where we can fish. We mostly have Carp, Pike and bass here so not much of any variety.

Dude, great video! I loved it for many reasons. The first time I visited the Netherlands, I too was taken aback by all the language that I was seeing but I could not understand. Shit wore me out. I have lived in Amsterdam for two years now, and the style of fishing here was totally new to me as well, but I dig it (especially the pike). You have a great attitude and an open mind. Keep soaking in the world, bro. Peace

Hi Chris, Fun to see how you experience our culture in much detail. Fishing in winter time is very difficult since the fish's metabolism is low, and so their feeding. They want to spend as less energy as possible, thus a dropshot rig is way more effective. This tackleshop youve been is specialized in the scandinavian brand ''Savage Gear''. They make great lures for pike. Next time you are fishing foreign waters I recommend you to use Navionics free bathymetry maps. Cheers

Heya Chris! So cool to see you fishing in Amsterdam! I fish there all the time. You kinda gotta know the spots, but most of all, you gotta know a few different techniques to apply. I would love to show you around the fishing spots in Amsterdam. Hit me up whenever you are back! I can teach you what I know, which will mean catching (at least a) fish in almost any circumstance in Amsterdam :)
