Seems like a pretty solid set up to me. I find a tonne of value in your videos, especially ones reviewing multiple kayaks. At the end of the day, I don’t have the luxury to test a bunch before making an educated decisions. Your videos are a one stop shop for everything pros and cons, which I really appreciate. 👍

Hey Jeff thanks for sharing your day on the lake what a beautiful day on the water. What an enjoyable time catching fish you were catching them on my favorite kayak and color your rig setup was sick. You have such power and control out there so smooth floating on the water your results were amazing. The fish were biting and great use of the different lures and techniques to build confidence. Thank you again so much brother tight lines take care and God bless.

Jeff , if you put a spiltring over the r bend on your spinnerbait , it will eliminate your arm getting bent so you don't have to constantly adjust after each bite, plus it will last so much longer .

Lately I've been looking at tiny boats for fishing rivers/creeks in Florida. I like the 10 &12' Prowlers from BassPro. Gotta be something I can load on my utility trailer easily by myself. I like the NuCanoe swivel seat and gear storage. Videos like this help alot in decision making.
@aaanglers4 ай бұрын
Kayaks are more my style vs the prowler. But to each their own, it's a preference. I think if you want to add up to a 9 HP motor, go prowler. If you are okay with lower thrust motors, go NuCanoe. Not to mention the NuCanoe can still do 7 MPH lol.

I have the same setup, and weight balance is crucial. I probably have more weight in the boat than you do, and I run without the scupper plugs. My 100ah battery is as far back as possible, and I cut 2 pieces of angle iron that my blackpack sits on to get that as far back as possible. Was able to slide the seat back an extra 6 inches or so by doing that too. I've got a 10 inch garmin on the gear pod with a 50ah battery and livescope black box in the gear pod, so I probably have a little more weight in the nose than you do. Very minimal to no water in channels(depending on whether I'm moving/standing), and I weigh around 240 right now. 16x16 is loaded full of tackle, no shortstack, but I do have 2 tupperwares under my seat full of soft plastics. Fun boat to rig out, would definitely recommend a rudder!

Interested in possibly replacing my 8 yr old Slayer Propel 13 with an Ultimate! To address your need for a skeg: I removed my Boonedox aluminum rudder when installing my NK300 on my Slayer as it was in the way, putting the original plastic rudder back on. My only concern was when using the pedal drive while fishing I had only the mediocre rudder that everyone is familiar with on the 2016 Slayers. As it turns out, the unpowered NK300 is about as serious a rudder as one could need. When pedaling I merely used the hand control that I had set up for the NK300 (eventually replaced with a tiller control - superior IMO)!

I have my unlimited loaded down with the xi3, 100 amp hour amped outdoors battery, 30 amp hour amped battery, garmin 93sv, 8-10 rods, more tackle than a person could ever use and I weigh 230 and have had no issues. I’ve been caught out in 3’ waves and crazy wind gust and felt more confident in my unlimited than I ever did in my Titan in the same conditions. I wouldn’t worry about capacity or sinking the thing.

So first the color of that boat is the coolest second, you were talking about weight limits and scuff or holes and plugs and a JetSki and you’re talking about steps to take case of……. So the first step is to deal with the JetSki because in that scenario, you were almost killed those things are so damn dangerous when those idiots get on them got a flame in right now first step is dealing with the JetSki depending on the situation pain might be part of that situation, just saying dude it’s some dangerous crap people play out there and they don’t realize it’s dangerous. They think they’re just having a good time spraying people but it’s not cool anyway love your video. Awesome production. I want to see the blowup one.😢 I forget what it’s called the fly something because I’m leaning towards the attack until I saw is it tile fly or something like that? @aaanglers3 ай бұрын
We don’t have to get it in in seconds, it’s just hard not to with a high speed baitcaster. Spinning setups we take more time with. Plus if theyre a smaller fish, we just want them released quick. We aren’t using 40lb test. We run 10-12 lb fluorocarbon leaders for most things and 4-8 lb for ultralight tackle.
