You and me both! lol I also use my Walmart rod holder the one with the pig tail , I latch it to my tailgate and spool her up real fast

I've never used one of those. I'm still on the fence whether or not it would be useful or just an extra hassle. Thanks for the great review.

I bought one of those spools from Amazon and the only problem I had is with the smaller spools they kept coming off and was binding up sure wish it would have had a guide on it I have a much smaller one though
@FishingWithBIGD4 жыл бұрын
thanks for stopping by man I appreciate it , did you get extra pieces in yours? mine came with two sets of extenders that helped hold the spools in place for different sizes

Never used one of the gizmo getups before , But Good Greif I hate line tangles,, Usually when I spool a bigger line up and is a extra step it takes a minute but I'll put a good barrel swivel on the end of my line and tie it off or get someone to pull it out holding the end of the swivel,I have one I keep that has a electrical Tie thru one side of it they can hold onto so the swivel will spin as they pull out the line or I'll hook it to something and it will spin as I walk away pulling out the line it keeps a little bit of tenison on the line that helps too ,once I have it all out ,I'll Reel it back in the swivel Allows the line to spin freely when it needs to and it helps with that, Another thing That Sure Helps If You Do that After a Fishin Trip The Creek or river currents can twist the devil outta line , I'll Usually rinse my reels, or my Cast Net, bait buckets anyway after a Trip ask that's just a good time to do it, ALSO Very Important to do is Rinsing The Boat, Trailer, Motors if I've been in the Marsh in brackish water areas , It's Wise To Run some fresh Clean water thru that water pump ASAP on any outboard if it's been in salt or brackish mixed Water , we all know Salts Corrosive,, Buying New Parts and repairs can be avoided with a little caution and useful tips, as far as my reels.and Line Situation when I do that Rinse of everything I'll Tie on the swivel I keep it right there in the same spot where I do my Clean ups and re spool my lines and check it out for frays or something that Could cost me A big 🐟 Fish , It takes a few minutes but saves Money 💰💰💰 that I can use for something else I want or need for Fishin 🎣 , Good Job On This Video
@FishingWithBIGD3 жыл бұрын
that sounds like an interesting way to spool your line , might have to try that , before this gadget I use to take my pigtail rod holder from walmart and throw the spool on it and have my kiddo start cranking it while I held it tight but I'd have the line twist for a week before I could get them worked out
@donniedickerson80773 жыл бұрын
@@FishingWithBIGD yep, some line is Worse about that twist than others too, I've been Using this swivel trick for a long time , especially after I go a couple of times I'll Useually pull it out with the swivel on the end and reel it back up , anything that gives us the edge is Worth a Try , River is up here backwater is in the sloughs and in the Swamp in places ,I have a few bank Pole's set for catfish ,.one of my favorite things to do is fish the Backwater Like This , Catfish leave the River and follow the sloughs into the swamp , I set some hooks on poles with the bait close to the surface and as a rule do pretty good, A few nights of that and I'm Stocked Up on Channel Cats for a month ,It's alotta Fun, And the Raider 10e runs pretty shallow so all good ,. Hope ya catch a Bigun 🦈🎣, Tight Lines To Ya

If you un-screw the big, middle screw, it tightens the arms against the spool so the spool doesn't fall out
@FishingWithBIGD3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man I finally figured it out while playing with it and some larger spools
