The mammoth lakes loop gets a steady amount of stocks throughout the summer, lake Mary usually gets nice fish put in. Upper Owens River is a popular place to do some fly fishing, can’t go wrong checking that out. There are literally tons of lakes to try though. Mammoth lakes gets very busy with visitors. You can also check out Rock Creek Lake for some nice fishing

2” Berkley powerbait minnows, smelt color 🤙🏼, they should be available on Berkeley’s website, the powerbait ones not the gulp. Gulp ones are too stiff

What hook size do you use for the minnows?

Size 10 owner mosquito hooks, I have also recently been using a 1/32 oz ball head with a size 8 sickle hook and those have been working very well also

When I use a size 10 mosquito hook I either put two bb or 3/0 split shots about a foot and a half away from the minnow and about 1/2 inch apart

I was up there about the same time when a storm hit and blew me off the lake. It was literally snowing into our faces as we were fishing the shoreline. I remember it so well because a dumb coyote kept heckling this lone fisherman so i went to help scare it away so he could pack up! There was literally nobody around!

Season won’t open for fishing until the last weekend of April and they have soo much snow right now a lot of lakes will still be frozen over. But pleasant valley reservoir and lower Owens river are open all year, one section of the lower Owens is special regulations. But some of the waters I believe below lone pine are open now to fish also
