I spent yesterday ice fishing with my family . No shed, manual auger etc. No flasher, no fish finder. Simply went where I caught bluegills in the past. To wait and watch that tiny little bobber to go under was the greatest thing ever. Hadnt ice fished for 15 years . The grandchildren had never ice fished. My point is what you think it is. Fishing should require some effort , thought etc

Nice parody and all. The premise is that guys who use FFS don't care about fishing (as you know it). The thing is, everybody still likes to lean back; that's what were there for. Never saw an FFS user who wasn't having fun. If they get to lean back more every trip, they're having more fun. And don't worry about the creel limits, most bass anglers, including FFS users, release their catch. In other words, I get the point about using electroshock, dynamite, gill nets, or electric lures that catch the bass for you. But that's taking it too far. The thrill of feeling the bite, setting a hook, and fighting the fish remains, and isn't going anywhere.

Failing, learning (without live underwater data), honing your skill, and finally putting it all together. Without seeing it happen live on screen. Where we at here? Oh yeah... That strike 3. @@JasonBrown-es5yw I don't have FFS, and it took me a while to utilize 2d properly ( I still suck at it). But the first time I was able to identify and catch a fish using it, I was pretty stoked. I'd reckon it's the same way with FFS. Especially if you have already spent countless hours learning, failing, imagining - and giving away money in tournaments. At any rate, it sure as hell isn't anything like electroshocking, dynamite, live bait, gill netting, robot fishing, or whatever.

The electroshock rig is not expensive. There are diy you tube videos that teach you how to build one in a couple hours for less than 100 bucks. The problem with them is they’re not as effective in deeper water. They’re really nice when you don’t want to waste your entire day on the water and need a good limit of fish.

Love it! Completely agree. Let's keep adding more technology so we don't have to practice, learn, or try. The winner is the guy who spends the most money. Also need to be in an enclosed, climate controlled boat with a head set over our eyes connected to the screen, so it completely eliminates the discomfort and inconvenience of the outdoor experience.😅

Randy, is there a way we can poison all the fish with toxic Lead mining tailings instead so they float to the surface? Manufacturing Lead fishing lures like you do could be a great start. Lead mined for fishing tackle is by its very nature not recycled, so we can be sure it all ends up in our water where it can work its magic. And if the tailings aren’t enough, wildlife like Loons can ingest the tackle, too. The leading cause of death of adult Loons is Lead tackle, so we know it’s pretty good. Looks like your sales of Lead tackle are paving the way to success here. Great idea, Randy!!!

If you think fishing is expensive now wait till the only way to fish a decent lake is to wait in line for years to have a membership in a club to give you access to a managed body of water. Why purchase and carry all the equipment FFS or the Electroshock Rig require when you can sling out one little crank bait and catch them all! The Big R is a diving bait into which you insert one little Rotenone tablet. Cast it out and as you crank it back the chemical is released, instantly preventing all the fish your Big R wobbles by from absorbing oxygen thru their gills. All you have to do is scoop them up. With the Big R, all you need is a rod and reel, a big landing net and a little pill bottle in your shirt pocket. Let advances in chemistry take you back to the basics. Hey Randy, you definitely putting up the good fight and I’m a fan of your you’re kind of starting to make me think of my ex-wife Wright that constant nagging in such and that’s what it’s starting to feel like just accept the fact that professional fishing is fucked forever I mean it really is It’s just gonna go back to being in regular fishing like prior to Ray Scott and then you know a little bit a side button with friends, but the integrity of it’s gone and it’s not coming back. I think recently Tom went out there and it was easy catching, but it was funny. You know The amount of fish traps I saw along the bank. I’m never fishing tournament again. They have a Wednesday night jackpot and I’m like man there’s a whole bunch of people trapping fish out there. There’s a cheater tournament who can cheat the best and I think it’s probably always been like that. We just didn’t know.

These days, we have over enthusiastic bloggers who share specific locations and exactly what they caught it on for celebrity, ego, subscribers, or other. Now, any angler who has a personality can become a celebrity for showing the masses exactly what they used and where they caught it. Fishing is a process of discovery. There should be some mystic left for those who put in the time to try to figure it out for themselves. It almost seems as if anglers are claiming their own piece of the pie to the point where there is nothing but crumbs left.
