Graeme goes inshore fishing near some submarine wartime defences. On this episode of TA Fishing Graeme goes aboard Wayne Comben's 17-foot boat as the head off to try fishing by some submarine wartime defences. Using a chum trail of bran and mashed Horse Mackerel they soon draw out the occupants of the underwater defences, often hooking them 2 at a time. It's all light tackle fishing with spinning rods, small hooks and baits of Ragworm, Sandeel and Squid. Sit back and enjoy yet another original film from T.A. Fishing, the channel dedicated to help newcomers to fishing.

I was watching one of your older videos, you said that tea from a thermos is quite unpleasant. I totally agree with you on that, but if you only put hot water in the thermos and just bring the tea and bits for it you'll find it a lot more pleasant. Nit only that, you never have to wash the thermos out as you've only had hot water in it.

Napoleonic forts Graeme. Built around 1870 to defend the UK against the French under Napoleon III. They were known originally as Palmerston's Forts and were never really used then as the French had already been defeated by the time the forts were finished. They were actually used during the 1st and 2nd World Wars to defend the coasts. They are gun emplacements, generally originally housing 7" RML Guns that fired a 64 pound shell over 3 miles

there are 4 island forts in total built in 1856 to deter a French invasion but by the time they were built there was no threat. they housed 18 pounder cannon and howitzer too. when the threat of world war 1 approached they were modernised to house newer cannon then when world war 2 broke out they had added defenses of anti aircraft aswel. but these forts never fired a shot in anger or defense they were backed up by several forts in the Isle of White and further forts of the cost of portsmouth. they are currently up for sell but because they are a listed building your very limited to what you can do with them one was converted into a hotel but it no longer operates as one. hope this info helps.
