Fishing Panguitch Lake, Summer (Late July 2022), Utah

It was time to get out the heat and head up to the mountains for a day and Panguitch Lake sounded ideal. Cool mountain air and trout fishing sounded pretty good. The weather for the day at Panguitch Lake was a high of 80F and light winds, perfect!
Arriving just after sunrise we didn't waste any time and immediately got to trolling. We got immediate action, Jen landing three Bows right after the other and I followed with a couple more. From there it gradually began to slow down. We missed some fish and were able to land one here and there, trying a variety of lures, we encountered some very long slow spells.
Over all, amazing day! We caught some nice Bows and a Cutthroat and enjoyed the break from the triple digit heat of down south. Still looking for that big Tiger, we'll just have to come back!

If you're getting the little bows like that.. you're in the wrong habitat for the big tigers and cuttys. When the water turns green the established fish head off to certain areas of the lake. Thanks for taking us along! Always a good time on panguitch

Always a good time at Panguitch. Never been skunked there. The water does get weird when the lake turns over mid summer.

I was back out on strawberry this weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I bet we caught 100+ fish! Rainbows and cutthroats. SO MUCH FUN!
