as of Jan2/2020 caught a 14 lb uni splake on a 3 inch yellow grub size 3/0 on a sunny day. same time frame , same casting area. New bite mode, I guess.

Thanks a lot! I have been struggling with this one until I got the location from your video. Also thanks for the tip with 2 rods, this lake is deep indeed and takes a lot of time until the lures sink to the bottom.

Just caught a 17.9lb unique splake for this mission, forecast was a day with the single peak fish time at 11am, caught him, midday 11:30ish, overcast, coordinates -13.66, -24.57, using an X series 1 1/2oz #4/0 with a ruby 3inch grub, using stop and go halfway down the water column. I started using a red 3in grub, then yellow 3in, but was only landing unique lake trout and burbots. Popped on the ruby 3in grub right as I started watching this video, and bam first bite was the uni. Goodluck everyone

Caught mine at basically 6am, snowing, 3" yellow grub, 1/2oz #2/0 jighead.

I used red 7cm grub same as you in the same spot on a 21g #3/0 Unique 7kg with lots of jealous players in chat asking me what setup i used lol cheers Bulkan *Forgot to mention the time and weather 12:40 pm Sunny day it took me around 5 casts with 2 rods looks like the fish is rare some get lucky and pull it out faster but on average 5-10 casts.

Saw this video when trying to do this mission and was bummed when I realized I only had the 3" green grub. However I did get my unique Splake after all. 1 1/2 oz #4/0 jig with 3" green grub. cast out and while it is falling to the bottom, tap the retrieve just enough to register a stop and go as it falls to the bottom. the unique Splake hit during the stop and go, fall. Hope this helps someone. P.S. Sunny day, midday peak, caught midday.
