I'm learning. (Great videos). But wait - why is recovery speed important if you can adjust it usually. What is ideal? Or best?
@BeardForge7 жыл бұрын
The recovery speed is important when a fish swims straight at you. The faster your recovery speed the faster you can pick up line. Even on the max setting a reel with a higher recovery rate will bring in line faster.

Oosp thank you for answering and I want to say. This is like the definitive guide to rods and reels in this game. They changed a few lvls and gold around. (Not your fault of course) But this guide is amazing and very, very relevant. Thanks again, I sincerely appreciate this.

The most I can cast with the 1/4 oz narrow spoon is 70 yards from the kayak, and about 80 from the pier. I don't know if I'm using the wrong stuff, but it is "ideal". It is the Elemental 8'6" and the Wincast 1500. I'm level 13 so far. Am I just at to low of a level, and is this normal distances at level 13?

I finally figured out how to build a perfect rod. You always start with the line. Say you want 10 lbs. test line, done. Now pick the reel just barely below 10 lbs. Go with 9.9 lbs. max drag Prima 3500, as it's as close to 10 lbs. as you can get without breaking it ever. Ever. Now pick the rod, pick just over the reel limit of 9.9 lbs. The 10 lbs. Aurora is perfect. Now you have an unbreakable optimally balanced 9.9 lb. capable setup. Add a barbless hook, and you have the strongest 10 lb. test line setup possible that will earn maximum XP points. Say you instead picked the Force Feeder 6000 with 10.5 lb. max. Now you are screwed, as you created a time bomb. You can only use it at the 7/8 drag setting, that's only 9 1/8 lb. If you accidentally set it to 8/8 drag a large fish will break your line and rod. You now see how most reels in the list are useless. That Calisto 8.8 lb. is a waste of money. Too big for 8 lb. line, too small for 10 lb. line. The Espira ML 3000 12.1 lb. reel. Useless. There isn't 12.2 lb. line. You have to use 15 lb. to be safe. Lighter weight line scares fewer fish. Why limit 15 lb. line catches fewer fish than 12 lb line. Using heavier line than required is dumb, you lose XP. By the way, catch the big fish in the kayak with the anchor up, and you can pull in 2 x the weight of fish with no problem.

What about line capacity? If it say's mono 10/100 does that mean online put 100 on the reel? Or if it will hold 375 put 375 on it?

Got a Prima 2500 8.8 drag on my Caesar 23ft, run 8lb mono or I like fluoro because it's more sensitive and invisible to the fish and almost as strong as braid, stronger than mono. Its a sensitive pole and as my gramps used to say, "its so sensitive you can feel a fish fart."

Max drag is the holding strength of the reel. That number means 8.8 pounds of pull before the drag allows the reel to feed line, not before the reel breaks.
@BeardForge5 жыл бұрын
When this video was made maxing out the drag of the reel and having a fish pull to the max would cause your reel, assuming it was the weakest piece of equipment fitted, to lose durability at 20% per second. In other words it would cause your reel to break.

I love my Caesar 23ft for float fishing largemouths and gar. It only holds 10lb line max, but the fighting leverage is unmatched and you only have to reel in to 30 feet and it will auto land your fish. If your rod is 10 foot, you'll have to get them in to about 12 ft before it auto lands. I love it for fishing around weedbeds and under trees around 50 to 70ft cast all you need, especially if you got a kayak. It just yanks them up and out like nothing.

Explain a line by its own measurement mm
@BeardForge7 жыл бұрын
It means how thick the fishing line is. The smaller the number (ie .009 is smaller than .018) the harder it is to see but the less strain it can handle. The bigger the line, the easier to see but can handle more strain.

Wth is a bison spinner and how did u get it? Never seen that before ingame.
@BeardForge8 жыл бұрын
It was a reward item for interacting with the american flags at each body of water. You could use each one once per day and they would give you random fireworks and lures. The 2 lures were eagle spoons and bison spinners. This was during the 4th of July event that ran for 5 days.

what about rod length, how does that affect things? I currently have a telefloat 650, and want to upgrade. I am looking at a ceasar 500, but that is 1.5 meters shorter. Will that make me cast shorter or something?
@BeardForge7 жыл бұрын
Generally for float rods length does not matter as you'll be using the pitch option. That said the longer the length of the rod the farther it is able to cast in the normal casting mode regardless of the rod type.

why waste bait float fishing for largemouth? They bite like crazy on lures.
