I really appreciate your video. It is clear you've put a lot of thought into this and you're not just regurgitating marketing or paid reviews from people who are not at all experts. You apply proper logic and give a thorough, well thought video. Thanks.

Yes great video, in the market for a new rain suit, and Simms was the brand name I was looking at. Hard to find info on what rain suits Simms offers. I was looking at the Challenger model but now I'll look at the model you reviewed, couple of the extras this model had I liked that the Challenger didn't have, full zipper to hip, adjustable for back of heal, I'm short, and the face covering. Best video on the Simms rain gear I've found on KZbin.

Thank You. You are correct, the Prodry is a challenger suit on steroids. Lots of more little adjustments to make it fit better. I do not have a Challenger suit so I can't speak to the rain protection, but since it is made by Simms my guess is that it is very good. I do own a Challenger insulated suit and and love it but it does lack the ability to fine tune the fir like the Prodry.

Just ordered the FXR tri laminate vapour bibs for spring summer and fall muskie season. Worth every penny.

I would have seen the price and never even thought about buying these thinking I’m paying for the name. But now I see that these are a super engineered rain system. Now I’m saving.

It was hard for me to pay the high price but in the long run I figured I would be spending less money because I can wear it for more years.

Excellent review! This needs to be more popular. I've had BPS 100 MPH and Gill FG2. My BPS is still in pretty good shape after 4 years, but I just got the Gill only because it was 50% off. I couldn't pass up on trying something of that quality for cheap. Depending how the Gill does in a few years, Simms may be my goto high end suit in the future.

no storm flap on the front zipper area. Are the elbows and knees double layered? Are the glove pockets waterproof?
@highschoolfishingcentral77533 жыл бұрын
The Simms does not need a storm flap because the zipper does not leak. The Knees are double layered but the elbows are not. All pockets are waterproof.

How are they holding up? I'm between the simms and the Aftco Anhydrous 2.0 3L
@highschoolfishingcentral77534 жыл бұрын
Still holding up fine. I have no experience with the AFTCO products so I cannot compare them but I have the Simms ProDry and the Simms Challenger Insulated suit and both are top notch.

When you edit your footage, the audio needs to be at the same level. I turned my volume up (w/ headphones) to hear you and then your intro and logo appeared at a far higher volume. It was quite a jolt.

Grundens is by far my favorite. Sims is way over priced and Grundens outperforms them.

You talking about the new Grundens Gambler? If so, how you liking it? I need to replace my soon and not really wanting to go back to Simms

what are kill-switch attachments for?
@highschoolfishingcentral77535 жыл бұрын
They attach to the kill switch which shuts off the motor if the driver is thrown from the boat. All tournaments require the driver attach themselves to the kill switch when driving the boat.

Which model jacket is in your video I can't find it

How did you know I will watch the video after 2 years?

The jacket in video looks like to be XL, what is your height and how you feel about fit?? Some say the jacket is buggy and should buy size down.
@highschoolfishingcentral77534 жыл бұрын
I am 5'11" and 230 lbs - I have an athletic build and am big in the chest and shoulders. I would agree that the XL is a little bigger compared to most XL clothing. I tried on several jackets and bibs before I went with the XL. The deciding factor on purchasing the XL over the L was the ability to wear layers under the jacket in colder weather. The Simms Pro Dry material is very thin and lightweight but I fish into the colder weather of November here in the upper midwest. I hope this helps.

And the boots? inside or outside the pants
@highschoolfishingcentral77534 жыл бұрын
There is plenty of room for the boots to be inside the pants. With the pant leg zipper going all the way yo your hip, it is very easy to slide the pants on over the boots.

Haha. Yes, you do have to have to fully unzip the chest area. It is a small inconvenience for staying completely dry.
@charlesjudd41942 жыл бұрын
@@highschoolfishingcentral7753 The new ones have two zippers on the chest, one to zip it up and one to use when You have to relieve yourself on the water without having to take the entire suit off.
