@@Inshore_Angler You're welcome. I know this might be a strange one and not to many's interest,but I've never tried or tied the 'Split Rig'. Have you ever used it in your competitions ?

@@kevinbuckler1085 I used it when I was younger but really shouldn't of. Most of our competitions are not distance ones. I wouldn't be scared to use it though if that's what you mean

@@kevinbuckler1085 it's definitely an effective fish catching rig but it doesn't suit a lot of the fishing that I actually do in matches. For the ground I fish a 2 hook clip down would be a far better fit

Not a problem mate just make sure to cut the middle of the loop so they don't become lop sided 👍👍

@@Inshore_Angler thanks fella yes I get that but my problem will be tying the hooks on equal to each side of the wishbone. New to this knot tying and position is sometimes luck then judgement. But will give a good go. But see they need to be exact to be able to clip down. Stay safe all. Many thanks as always

@@johnwyatt2316 you can make your tag end the same on both sides at the beginning of your knot that should help

@@Inshore_Angler yes I had a go but try to give myself enough to wrap around and through but still a little out. I'm going to try with a crimp on swivel but not crimp down, couple bait stops either side that way with some resistance can balance snood lengths. And attach the pulley line to the swivel part. Obviously if I get a good fish on one hook it would pull other snood through the crimp but only up to the stop and the other hook eye. That or use some super glue to fix line in crimp. Just a variation you would see but can't send photos on here. But sure you get the idea. Going to take prototype out tomorrow. Stay safe all. Things getting bit worse here in the garden of England

Nice one again thanks Chris! Loving these little rig tutorials. You didn't seem to use the pulley bead or did I miss something? Stay safe & well. 👍👍
@Inshore_Angler
@Inshore_Angler 4 жыл бұрын
I used the swivel and the bead on either side just because that's how I learned them and not everyone would have pulley beads. But simply replace the middle running swivel with the pulley bead if you prefer them 😁

I see you use Amnesia for your snoods, I use it also, Have done for the last 20 or more years. It is cool how popular it is for snoods considering it was originally marketed as the running line to be used behind shooting head fly fishing lines.
@Inshore_Angler
@Inshore_Angler 4 жыл бұрын
Ya I think the lack of memory really made it a market leader. I've found it can be much stronger than the stated breaking strain but can honestly say it's never let me down
@garylawlor2288
@garylawlor2288 4 жыл бұрын
@@Inshore_Angler I think you are correct on both counts there man. It's very stiff which is great for avoiding tangles and is definitely stronger than stated but has quite a large diameter for stated breaking strain so I am not surprised. Have you ever had a go at making your own lead links with bait clip? Is actually fairly easy and a great way to save a few quid.

If you were fishing clean ground would you still use the wishbone on a pulley or would you fish it on a standard clipped rig?
@Inshore_Angler
@Inshore_Angler 4 жыл бұрын
To be honest man if if was a clean ground beach and I wanted to fish 2 hooks at distance I would probably go with a 2 hook loop clip down rig. That will let you use 1 hook above the lead and one below. If you wanted to use a wishbone though I would usually use a Pulley version just because a fixed version is a bit fiddly to make
