wow... you are amazing. I was too scared to have a boat. I had a dream again after watching your video. thank you.

Yet another cracking video Luke! Your explanation of the migration of bait schools relative to tidal patterns around Hervey Bay is exceptional. Far better than many hosts of the prominent fishing shows broadcast on mainstream television. Thanks for the insight and keep the videos coming

Hey mate I enjoy your clips Got a question how hard is it to fish in the channels with the currents and all without a minkota? Can you drift and still catch Mackies ect? Are the currents to strong to anchor on a spot?
@FishingBoatingExploring2 жыл бұрын
Apart from anchoring I spot lock and drift the channels, here is a video drifting - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIG7d5KXj9-Wmc0 On large moon phases it is hard to anchor and spot lock on a location so I prefer to fish deeper in the channels on the smaller tides. But it is not impossible. I tend to drift when holding is hard.
@Seaslayeradventue2 жыл бұрын
@@FishingBoatingExploring thanks for that what about using parachute anchor to help slow drift?
@FishingBoatingExploring2 жыл бұрын
@@Seaslayeradventue i have not had that much success with them, takes a while to deploy etc and my target areas are pretty small.

@@FishingBoatingExploring not even one bite :( While I was drifting, I got surrounded by schools of tuna the entire time. Used soft plastics, metal slugs, and nothing. I really dont understand what am I doing wrong. :(
@FishingBoatingExploring3 жыл бұрын
@@LOOPPT thats no good mate. I was put yesterday and every time a tuna school came within range I managed to pick up a few mackerel. The tuna seemed fixated on quite small bait fish but the mackerel etc went for anything around 3 inches in size. Huge tides do make it hard to get the lures in the right spot aswell. Better luck next time mate.
@fromme2u4933 жыл бұрын
@@FishingBoatingExploring there you go. I This is why it is so important to talk with someone who knows what he's doing. I was using lures bigger than that. I'll try smaller ones next time. I have a very old two stroke motor, that makes way too much noise. But your drifting tips made me stay in silence and the schools ended up getting close enough for my casts. I'll keep you noticed 😉 and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

No problem man, I’m a young fella and I’m going to save up for a boat. How much do you think I would be looking for a nice boat that can get me up the island. I don’t mind if it’s second hand!
@FishingBoatingExploring5 жыл бұрын
@@kicks9010 Mate, I have seen folks in 3.5m tinnies up the island on a good day and inside the straits a 3.5 to 4.5m is perfect for pretty much anywhere. A hull in good shape is not expensive, the motor is the really important part. I reckon you could get into a good package for somewhere between 5 to 10 grand and maybe under that if you hunt around for a good 2nd hand one.
