Great video 👍 I’ve got the same boat and a 250 Yamaha and I also went with the Fishing Specialties pole last year. I use the magnetic plate up at the bow and the screw type in the back. I’ve had the magnets not hold good in rough waves I think because with our hulls the rods have to be pretty long. Mike sent me new magnets so we’ll see how they hold up this season. I don’t use my shuttle in the boat since I got 12” screens in the boat and only a 9” in the shuttle but that’s a great idea and system for sure !! 👍👍👍

Beautiful review. I just purchased this after your video. Lol love the part where you can remove so it doesn't get stolen because Colorado next to California is the leader in people stealing shit.

looking at this one -but their website is pretty poor on descriptions / pictures and this is the only video ive come across on how this works they really should link it from their site, I do like the idea for my tracker 175 but moving that plate is kinda difficult to do quickly at a dock etc --- any experience with the magnetic plate???? I dock my boat on the side Id be using so a quick way to move that plate out of the way would be better and I KNOW id drop those little screws in the water if thats they plan the really should include a lot of spares or at least tell you where to get them. looks like a decent mount

I haven’t read the comment so you may have been told several times, but the washer on the tether is wrong, it’s going to fail the way you have it. Washer on top wire between

It’s really a waste of money. Dyi for under $20 and works just as well. Ta ta

Suitable for only the calmest days. Try running 50 miles in 25mph winds with a shuttle sitting on the floor and that clunky-ass pole laying on the deck. By the time you have that flagpole ready to go, I already have my trolling motor in the water and a fish in the livewell. There's a reason why professional anglers have their FFS mounted to the trolling motor, and don't ever use poles.

Ok tell us how you made a 5 seconds drop and play pole for 20 bucks with all the versatility of this system.

I want to see whats right underneath me, not 15 or 20 feet away. I do fish flooded timber but the lakes are small (1000 acres) with tons of structure. The fishing specialties down pole transducer was the best solution. Mike at fishing specialties is fantastic. He is the first person to explain side scan where I could understand it. That was after 20 or more videos on You tube on the subject.

Why is it a bad idea to mount to the trolling motor?
@CatchingColorado6 ай бұрын
You are controlling the boat and the live scope with the same motor button. You therefore can not spot lock and also look the direction of your choice. It’s one or the other. Just very difficult to control both at once. You’d be constantly fighting your motors desire to stay on spot and you desire to look the direction of casting

I don't have live scope but have anchor lock on my Motorguide trolling motor. Because the motor turns over 180 degrees when maintaining an anchor position, you would encounter transducer cable problems. The only negative with this system is bringing it on board when moving. It is a seperate operation from raising the trolling motor. It is a separate operation but is very simple. Just raise it up out of its cradle and lay it on your boats deck. Your done.
@roadhouse86042 ай бұрын
It's not. It's the best solution, and the reason why you won't ever see a pole in a professional angler's boat. You need two hands to fish, and unless you have a third arm, a pole is awkward, ridiculously slow, and worthless. And the spot lock argument doesn't hold water. The best FFS sonar anglers are always moving, and don't use spot lock when targeting fish- they know how to control a boat without it.
@roadhouse86042 ай бұрын
@@HughButler-lb6zs You don't ever encounter cable problems. If you do, your transducer cable is too tight. Try running in rough water with a pole and a $1500 transducer laying on the front deck. Trolling motor mount is the only way to go.
