I have been fishing for over 40years. From junior to senior. I have never been jealous about sponsored angling or sponsoring. I have only looked up at and respected the anglers that have been or been offered sponsorship. There is a good reason why companies sponsor them. They are anglers that have achieved good results on a very regular bases. These anglers have put the time, effort to the sport and gained the knowledge & results. Total respect to companies that offer sponsorship & to anglers that gain sponsorship. I love the way Andy & Jamie bounce off each other and the way they come across with tips/methods. You guys are Awesome

I would just like to say that these two anglers deserve everything they get, two top blokes that are honest and will talk and help you regardless of your skills i went on one of my first match with Jamie and Andy in and got pegged between them, the banter between them was great and at the end Andy Said well done you fished well and coming from someone like that gives you confidence to continue in future matches, can’t understand why anyone would get jealous over them being sponsored.

You guys deserve sponsorship to the highest degree, the amount of work you do continuously alone in helping us anglers is phenomenal, I ask this how many anglers have you brought into fishing weather it being new or returning anglers, these anglers have returned because of this , let alone how much you both have achieved as anglers. You’ve won the lot and it’s down to YOUR hard work and dedication into the sport. Keep up the good work guys you thoroughly deserve it .

What is plain for all to see is how much respect you have for each other. Jamie’s comments about time for family learnt from Andy says it all.👍🎣

I think you three guys have shown everyone what fishing is about, its nice to have a sponsorship, its great to be good enough to win the big open matches, but its gold to just get out there and love what you do. 👏👏👏that was awesome lads. it was good to here what your journeys have been like. Both of you, I think are proper success stories in the sport, which has been through your hard work to get to where you are today. As for the keyboard anglers, there only jealous because you’ve done what they can’t. You’ve both been an inspiration to me. I’m knocking on the door to 50yrs young and been a sea angler most of my life. I just started coarse fishing late last year which has completely took over my fishing journey. Keep up the fantastic work, winning matches, making videos and sharing your knowledge. 👍

Fair play too you all for turning your passion into a living 👍🏻 I absolutely love fishing and watching your videos it’s helped improved my own personal skills massively. I recently started fishing matches and I’m not doing so well but I just love to take part and enjoy it weather I win or lose. I fished the Fish O last year was my first match but I went for the experience of entering a big match I only caught 20lb but I absolutely loved it. My passion is the fishing and helping with my mental health making new friends and been involved. If you get the opportunity to be noticed for sponsorship then it’s your skills as a angler they see. but most people only think about the money and you lose your passion. You guys are amazing and it shows that you are passionate lads and love your job but most of all been a angler and sharing your knowledge to help other people 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve only just started to watch winning ways an catching up on the back catalogue. I’m not a match fisherman an don’t have any interest in competing in them but I love to watch you guys. Just watching an leaning how you go about feeding, constantly thinking how to make something happen absolutely blows me away an I’m in ore of you both. When it comes to sponsorship unfortunately people will always be jealous of what others have, no matter how much or little that may be. You’ve all worked hard to get into a position where your passion/hobby is now paying you to do the thing that you’d gladly do for free. It’s a shame you’ve had abuse for working hard and making a dream possible. The way you both bounce off each other comes across really well on camera. I hope Winning Ways will continue to go from strength to strength in the coming years. Keep up the great work and keep enjoying what you do. My dad always said to me, find a job you enjoy and you’ll never work a day in your life… to me this is what you’re doing.

I started fishing about 3 years ago, and watching your videos, and others over the years has improved my fishing no end, I absolutely love fishing and wish I could fish more (job gets in the way, but pays them important bills) well done to you both. Remember people will always criticise normally out of jealousy. I’m gauging my improvements by framing now when over the last 2 years that never happened. For me my next steps will be to try and enter a big fishing event, but no rush. Keep up the great work.

It's obvious, it's sponsorship that makes the angler good. It has nothing to do with early mornings, miles of travelling, different venue challenges, preparation, commitment, enjoyment of the sport, dedication, every day being a learning day, obsessive compulsive angling disorder, bait prep, missing family commitments and getting grief from it, getting better at working out the small details that give you the edge. Oh and did I mention dedication? Going out in the most horrendous weather to challenge others in your sport by getting wetter and colder than anyone has a right to be, but still pushing yourself to win the competition. Its obvious, sponsorship makes the angler good...... isn't it? Great honesty guys, you are an inspiration to anyone pursuing a life in sport.

I have learnt such a lot for my angling from you guys, just a pleasure angler but love it more and more. It is so difficult to turn your hobby into a job, my dad turned his hobby for photography into his business, but to keep him interested he would go to his other hobby/pastime of scouting and photograph the kids learning. I tried to take my hobby of building truck models to the next level as a business when i got made redundant, but quickly lost interest in my hobby and not building for myself. It is a hard thing to do and you guys seem to have the balance just right….. long may you reign you lovely lot!🎣

We are two old pensioners now who wake up to sunshine and go fishing (but not with maver brolleys) and watching you guys has helped our fishing enjoyment massively to the point that we now fish the odd club match so many thanks to all of you for making these videos so entertaining..As far as peoples jealousy for you they wouldnt like to be on your end so just like the old films .....carry on fishing...... and laughing its brilliant.John and Bob.

Very interesting insight into the modern media side of fishing - "you have to earn it" is a phrase you could level at a lot of people these days. The two lads gambled their families' future and it paid off with a little bit of good fortune - it's the same starting up your own business, you do it for the right reasons and hope it builds a better life for you. Winning Ways has gone from strength to strength because all the ingredients are all mixed together perfectly - so yes, you can have your cake and eat it...if you work hard, have a little luck and application. Oh and in Andy's case just a little bit crazy! Keep em coming!

I'm gobsmacked that anybody would even contemplate giving you lads any kind of grief for being successful. You all give angling so much more than you receive from sponsorship or media exposure especially through the recent difficult times that we've all been through. There are without a doubt a whole cadre of anglers out there who have relied on your output over the last 2 years to get them through some dark and terrible days. We all know that there are arseholes everywhere but you three are exceptional people who deserve all the accolades that other posters are writing and some. Stuff the haters they're not worth it, your content is great and engages with the angler who actually loves fishing and not the nobs who shouldn't be anywhere near a rod and reel. Keep it up lads and the more success you get the happier we will all be.

Having met Andy and Des at docklow last year and learnt a heck of a lot from them. These guys deserve all their successes. These guys give back to the sport in so many ways with coaching and their videos on tips and techniques. They don't have to, some can take the sponsorship/money/ gear etc and do nothing to give back. How many of us viewers have become better anglers thanks to the likes of these guys.

I've had the pleasure of being coached for a day by Andy and can honestly say that it was a the best investment that I have ever made in terms of improving my angling. Andy is a very open and hugely knowledgeable instructor, who doesn't only tell you how to refine your methods but also goes into great detail about why a particular method works the way that it does. He has a completely down to earth approach and certainly doesn't project an elitist image. He is where he is because of all the hard work that he has put into the sport over many years and completely deserves the respect of the whole angling community.

Back in my day when i was match fishing, I though that Bob Nudd was the first professional match angler as he was Mr Browning after he won the World Champs. They use to make VHS videos then!. Then there was John Wilson making fishing films. Then I remember Kim Milsom went professional with Drennan. After a few years he packed it all in, got married and went back to work, I think that's correct. Also, there was Dave Harell who set up Midland Angling Products, I believe. It's never easy but you need personality and chemistry which you both have. You could be the next Larell and Hardy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

On the point you made about being approachable, i have chatted on messenger with Andy quite a bit and a few times i have asked Jamie questions, and have had great response form them both. They have NEVER ignored me. i used to be a sponsored angler many many years ago way back in the 90's , but i was only given maggots/casters pinkies squatts for my sponsorship, and in return i used to promote the tackle shop with my match results in a local paper.

Brilliant content lads. A young lad you've helped on his journey, Owen Newman I just starting with his new sponsor & I can honestly say he has worked very hard to have earned that chance.

Take no notice of the hecklers, you deserve what you get in this world. I have learned so much from you guys and have had success in our old gits matches copying the methods/ rigs/ baits etc,. you have recommended and I have put into practice. You pair should be on TV, you would get millions watching.

As a junior I was Sponsored by Dave's of Middlewich for the Winsford and District Winter league(early 80's). I had a Dave's Starlett's jacket/coat and match fees were covered. Not sure what would have happened if there were any cash prizes...... we were likely exempt. I saw this is a massive perk not a right, and it got me interested in gruelling Winter Weaver fishing. As a junior not sure we would be able to fish in the senior teams then, so obviously Dave had some influence.

Hard work puts you in a position where good luck can find you - enjoy the position you’re in as you’ve put the work in. I’ve met Jamie once as well when I was with my son fishing and he was a top bloke off the camera too
