G'day Mel that old wharf you were near in Sydney harbour was a coal loader. When I was a kid in the 1960s I'd fish there with my dad. Bream and leather jackets were the main species with some black fish thrown in. Mussels were the bait we'd pull them off the pilons. Also the big yakka you got make good sushi. Top video as usual, tight lines. The thing in the flatty is a mantis shrimp.

Never seen a mantis shrimp in the harbour or parra river before , caught them in the Hawkesbury though . If you got a minute to spare look up mantis shrimp on KZbin- fascinating little creature and viscous ! Great to see you travel to a different system again and catch fish - you’re a better angler than you give yourself credit for .

Yeah, I know they're around but haven't had the pleasure yet! Thanks for the heads up, I had a look and wow what a shrimp. Would be wild to see a live one in real life!🎣

I reckon most of them moored boats sit n sit. Used few times new then just sit. Gorgeous catch, I know a few say not eat from the harbour, I say as a one off, every few months you’ll be fine. Crazy how thar size of that mantra/prawn in the flatty.

There was a factory in Homebush bay that used to make Agent Orange for the war. After the war they dumped surplus in the bay. They built unit blocks along the foreshores. The dirt had to be burned in kilns before they could build on it. A mate worked in the plant, he was blood tested every fortnight.

Hi Mel, as always a very entertaining video, I think you should get a good GoPro so you can show everything you want to show We thank you.

Thank you, I used to use a GoPro but the transferring and editing to my phone was a nightmare to edit and the batteries die so quickly

Food Safety Advice - Sydney Harbour Previous test results have revealed elevated levels of dioxins in fish and crustaceans across Sydney Harbour, including Parramatta River and other connected tidal waterways. Recreational fishing in the Harbour has not been banned, but fishers are urged to follow dietary advice on the consumption of seafood from the Sydney Harbour, Parramatta River and other connected tidal waterways. Fishers can also continue to practise catch and release. Based on advice from an expert panel, the Government is recommending that: No fish or crustaceans caught west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge should be eaten. You should release your catch.

That boat ramp the water stinks. No cleaning table no toilets. Although they say go to the oval toilets as I did only to find them locked.🙄 We’re you caught the salmon, that’s goat island. That red blinker is we’re you can sometimes catch kings, Next time put the Yaka on and send it down at the red blinker. The bridge you went under was Gladesville. 😂
