jon how highly do you rate malman floats.. i know a lot of top anglers use them, rob wooton etc

I wouldn't use them if I didn't rate them. Both Gaz Malham and Mick Wilkinson have been making handmade floats longer than most and are hard to beat!

I prefer No11s mostly, but No10s on more positive rigs and No9s or even No8s on heavy rigs when I want lift bites from skimmers etc. Lightest canal-style rigs I like No12s.

Hi Jon, I notice that you are now a Matrix man,, I want some elastic similar strength to white hydro with similar actions as the last few white Hydrolastics I have bought seem very harsh compared to older stuff is there a new matrix elastic I could use as a replacement?

white hydro is definately not what it used to be. although its a higher rating ive found the old preston hollo 11 much more forgiving when catching carp long in the colder weather.

Matrix 10-12 Core might be what you're after as an equivalent, but I'd definitely give 10-12 Slik a go as you might find it performs even better, despite being solid.
