Just remember all fish move in and out of rivers, Bream as summer hits move down stream to spawn along our beaches then out to sea and travel north, more move in. I would have no problems eating fish from the Cooks River the water quality is now really good, yes still rubbish floating about but no chemicals in the water any more, check the regrowth along the river. thanks for your feed back. Hi mate do you know any good place for bass and salmon on shore
@TheHookandTheCook
@TheHookandTheCook 5 жыл бұрын
Okay Bass are mainly fresh water so most systems that run from salt into fresh along the eastern sea board will hold Bass. Salmon are right along the Sydney coast, we catch quite a few from the rocks at times and beaches fish well for them also. Thanks for tuning in and remember new clips loaded every Friday on The Hook and The Cook. Regards Scotty & Paul.

Went for a walk along the Cooks River from wardell rd to tempw station and back and large schools of large mullet under the bridge at Wardel Rd and fish jumping out of the water all the way along to Tempe so the river is improving all the time but I would only still catch and release in this waterway because of the pollution .Shame this natural resource was so exploited in the 60s and 70s .

The cooks river is so unpredictable along with many other areas. One day I could catch bream after bream and at the end of the day have a sore arm from pulling them up. I would go to the same spot same time same bait and not get a bite

Can you eat the fish you catch in the Cooks River or is it considered too polluted?

God no, it's so polluted in the silt itself that the fish will have high levels of mercury.

We are lucky as the water in all our rivers and Bays now are as good as they been in well over 100years, eating fish in these systems are fine, remember all fish travel and these Bream start their spawning run in November and head to sea then a few days later these same Bream end up on the market floor for all to buy and eat. We love your support and like to thankyou, Please share our clips as it will help us film more for all to enjoy.
