Very cool. Been catching tilapia and bluegill on my tenkara's here in Cape Town....
@FlickyFlies14 күн бұрын
Is it the same bluegill we have in the U.S. I wonder? That sounds awesome!
@SeanMillsFishing13 күн бұрын
@@FlickyFlies Yes it is. We have large mouth, smallmouth and spotted bass as well, all :imported" from the US...

They say trout don't live in ugly places, and you're proving that with every video. Thanks for taking us with you.

Plot Twist: My next video coming out is from a gray winter day catching stocker rainbow trout in the Denver South Platte downtown! (It isn't)
@JoeBtfzplk18 күн бұрын
@@FlickyFlies Been to downtown Denver. You don't have to take me there. (I didn't catch any stocker rainbows, though.)
@FlickyFlies18 күн бұрын
@ did you catch wild rainbows? Carp perhaps?
@JoeBtfzplk18 күн бұрын
@@FlickyFlies Unfortunately, I wasn't there to fish. (I was just in downtown Denver. The closest I got to the S. Platte was driving over it on one of the bridges.)

The biggest brown trout hang out at the where the river gets really warm guys right on the edge of where trout can't live is where the biggest ones grow

Is that something you've really noticed?
@tenkaraintheiowadriftless19 күн бұрын
Really stunning location Chris, and you captured it as well as anyone could. Fun to see you sneaking up on those browns in that skinny water. Really well done, thanks! A thought: people can have deeply spiritual experiences that have nothing to do with belief in the supernatural. I think you had one on this trip. 🙂
@FlickyFlies19 күн бұрын
Thanks man! It really is my favorite place to fish. You're right, I suppose I did have a spiritual experience in that way :)

Ghosting trout is not good. My old "home waters" was where I got to grips with life, and reset myself. High in the San Juan Mts, nowhere better. Cheers, Chris. Have a great Christmas.

Home waters in the San Juans! That really is my favorite area in Colorado, though I haven't ever fished there funny enough. Need to change that. Have a good one too my friend.

The juxtaposed petroglyphs and graffiti was awesome. Definitely should protect and respect wild places!

I think someone said a long time ago that it is not about the fish, it's about fooling them or something like that.
@FlickyFlies18 күн бұрын
That someone is smart! I get a lot of value from all sorts of aspects of fishing. The places it brings me is probably my #1. Just catching a fish and fooling them is great too, size doesn't matter too much. At least, I don't chase it. Catching a big fish, however, really can feel amazing and get the heart racing like nothing else in fishing.

I know people like to keep secrets that you could at least tell us what state you're in!
@FlickyFlies18 күн бұрын
Sorry man, just isn't needed for a video of this type!
@jonhenke150418 күн бұрын
@FlickyFlies it's not like I'm asking if it's in Sedona like one person was asking. If you said the state it's in there's no way anyone's going to pinpoint where you're at or even get within a hundred miles!
@FlickyFlies18 күн бұрын
@ I hear the argument, not trying to be a pain I just don’t think it’s necessary to enjoy the video. I know when I’m looking for spots and people drop a state, personally, it helps me a lot in narrowing down the search!
@FlickyFlies18 күн бұрын
@ btw, I almost deleted the Sedona comment but I felt that just saying nope was fine. But if we really think about it, now people know it isn’t Sedona and will help narrow down that search. Idk man, I just don’t think it’s necessary or helps the streams stay healthy. I know people have other opinions about that or call it gatekeeping but I fall in line with not giving out details if I’m going to film and show a place.
