Күн бұрын

Will ‘Black Moth’ Ward and Rob Burgess invite us to join them on a 48 hour carp fishing session at their syndicate lake, one of the most famous lakes in Essex… the ESSEX MANOR. Known for its huge carp (upwards of 25 40lb+ fish), and famous anglers that have fished here, the lads talk about the amazing number of big carp they caught during Spring 2020. This video tells the story of the new member Rob coming onto the lake and starting his campaign from scratch. In contrast Essex Manor veteran Will has fished the lake on and off since he was 18 and has caught some of the best carp the lake has to offer. Watch as the lads talk about their own experiences of this amazing venue whilst showing you exactly how they approach it during this session.
A notoriously tricky lake at times, they even manage to catch a few live for the camera… including a stunning original.

I completely agree. It has been a business since the early 1990s. Carp fishing at least, and now barbel fishing is going the same way. Waters are rapidly demystified by intensive fishing with the same known fish coming out regularly. I am sure there is still a lot of skill and knowledge required and if people really enjoy that, then that is fine, but I honestly can not see the attraction. I would much rather fish a quiet, lowly stocked club lake for modest fish. If it is a beautiful water, the size of the fish really doesn't matter (not a competition) and if you fish 'extensively' (as opposed to intensively) you can enjoy a water for many years without demystifying it and getting bored. It is still possible to do your own thing, if you can find quiet lakes (not so easy, unless the carp are relatively small) and there are many miles of river that are lightly fished.
@tutts999

@@portcullis5622 Glad someone agree with me. I avoid day ticket carp lakes like the plague, nothing more than a money making circus in most cases. I for one fish 3 small club lakes, not huge fish but they're quiet and relaxing. Plus I get out on the rivers after roach, Chub and Pike, normally with no one around.

You mean ‘carping’ isn’t a sport. It’s a disease. Been praying for a nasty strain of KHV to wipe out all the greedy folk’s income that have ruined a pleasurable pastime in the UK. Until then, long live the 🦦 otters.

not ness. in this vlog but sorry sometimes korda come across as snobby no need to look down on other fisherman coz you think your so much more important than others lets face it you elite claim all good venues that stops other having the chance to experience, which is life but not kool, we all still share the same love and experience of fishing what ever our level. englands natural places are so restricted it can be annouying for us when kept out. have to say sorry i love korda and you guys youve teach me alot and i like and respect you all ive seen all your lvogs and i slag off people who put you down on comments like maoning about volumes of bait and stuff, but looking down on the people that give you a name and money aint kool so try to cut it from vlogs coz it dont come across good and anoys others who are potential customers. lol just keep to youreslf. keep up good work i enjoy your vlog and litteraly youve teached me to fish so im gratefull enough to be honest to you how you come across sometimes.

I fished at Yately Sandhurst and the guy who runs the Manor offered me a ticket and I wasn't even on the waiting list! Was the first time I'd met him too. It was the £1,000 a year plus travelling to the lake and back that put me off! If I had the dough, I would have taken it. Great fish in there.

The problem with fishing is nobody actually wants you to go on a lake and catch. 95% of lakes are clicky and don’t let any ‘out siders’ fish ‘their’ lake. Mainly out of fear they’ll actually catch when the people that fish a lake regularly blank or they feel that people aren’t good enough to fish on there patch

Hello everyone. I am just getting started into carp fishing and I’m looking at a 2 rod set. Does anyone have any recommendations for rods and reels in the 50-70 pound bracket as I can’t afford to spend too much on new gear. I have looked at the Sonik Vader X RS rods and reels and am thinking of buying the 12 ft 3lb rod and 8000 size reel. Has anyone had any experience of them and how far they can cast? Or are there better rods and reels on the market for around the same price? My fishing is from 60 to 100 yrds.
