Great Catch my Man! I really enjoyed seeing you catch the three keeper Mangrove Snappers. I'm still at zero Mangrove Snapper keepers and I have caught 107 snappers since the first of September but they were lots of FUN!!!!! "Keep on Keeping on"

Awesome day 👍👍 Throwing them fish in the sand just makes it easier to hang onto them😅😅 I never see anyone target mangroves with artificials. You ever try small 2 -2 n a half inch twister minnows or paddletail jigs? Are you even allowed to target mangroves with a jig cause it doesn't oesnt have a circle hook?
@G2COASTAL10 ай бұрын
Ive seen people catch them on artificial but I have a hard enough time catching with with live bait LOL.

Great to see some keepers. Do you like the morning or evenings better there on thr sea wall?
@G2COASTAL10 ай бұрын
Im always a fan of the morning because there is usually less of a crowd and it works the best for my family.

3 in one day! Do you need a reef fishing permit and do you have to use circle hooks?
@robgover8341 Жыл бұрын
Yes to both questions. I am not telling you to violate fishing regulations, but the circle hook reg is unenforceable unless a game warden witnessed you catch the fish.
@G2COASTAL10 ай бұрын
Yes you need the reef fish endorsement and use circle hooks. Im a former Sheriff Deputy so I pretty much follow the regulations to a T.

Great video! Those were some really nice mangrove snapper! I love how how showed the rig you were using and the bait of choice. And you gotta love that dagger for catching inshore fish. I love my 8’6” dagger for throwing lures in the surf. Which one were you using? Was that the 7 foot? Hard to tell from the video.
@G2COASTAL10 ай бұрын
Yes it was the 7ft Dagger. Thanks for watching!

To get a accurate measurement you squeeze the tail?
@robgover8341 Жыл бұрын
You can pinch the tail to get the most out of the length. It is perfectly legal.
@G2COASTAL10 ай бұрын
Yes but always check local regulations to be 100%

Another fish that’s on my bucket list. Are they around in late October? Nice day of catching I’d say.
@robgover8341 Жыл бұрын
They bite great in October and they tend to run bigger in October too. The fall is the best inshore mangrove time.

Glad to see you back on the “Tube”. Excellent haul of mangroves. I prefer a bull minnow about as big around as my thumb. Stay safe and God Bless. 😎
