Fishing The River Bure At Wroxham - Riverside Cottage.

Because of Covid 19 we were'nt sure if this week away was actually going to happen but we got lucky as government rules on shielding were finally eased on the day before we were due to go. So we went for it!
And what a cottage it is, perfect location too being near Wroxham Broad away from the crowds. See my previous video about Eric's Swamp to see how peaceful is it there.....

Next time maybe try pre baiting an area with groundbait and fishing at night when the boats have gone to bed. Looks like a nice spot

I think they were there, my dad caught a couple on the float but ledgering was out of the running because of the weed. I think we'd have done well on the cage feeder 👍

Love the video mate going here next month and can’t wait to get into some fish on the river bure gunna stay at Vauxhall holiday park so if anyone has any great parts of the river bure to fish would be brilliant

Anywhere in Wroxham is good, if you find my other video called a broadlands adventure you'll see some good spots by the railway bridge where i caught some decent roach and a nice pike 👍

Me and My Family stayed at this house last year and didn’t have much luck with fish because the property too the right hand side has a resident otter 👎

Oh no, that's bad news - didn't see any otters while i was there. There was a rather large resident pike under the boathouse next door though.

Used to be a speed limit on boats in 1979 and the Police had launches to enforce it Looks like no such limit now exists with the speed some of these are going or the Police are non existant

Yes some of the larger hire boats 8n particular were blatantly going too fast and there's no excuse for it as you are told the correct throttle settings when you hire one. Didn't see any river police during that week and I never saw the EA baillif boat either. Always see them in the Wroxham area.

Went there about 16 years ago and we done the broads as a holiday and we was only allowed to go 10 knots 15 depending on what part of the river you are

The max speed that we've seen posted is 6mph and that was on Barton Broad. There are stretches of the Bure, Thurne and Ant that have a limit of 5mph but it's mostly 3 or 4 mph to try and prevent erosion of the banks. I have been told on occasion to slow down by the B.A. Rangers that patrol the rivers, so they are about, in fact one of the Rangers' boats passed by during the video. We've been up to The Broads several times in the last few years and always enjoy dropping a line in the evenings after we've moored up for the night. I must say that I was disappointed in how close some of the cruisers came to your swim, there was plenty of space to give you the room you needed to fish.
