Chunkys Tackle shop near the Train station is worth a visit. I've seen tench bubbles at the back of Roys car park where people launch canoes and paddle boards. Down side is its full of snags...

I've just got back into this fishing malarky after a 25 year break(life) and I'm loving it. I have a question though, I live in Ormesby and need to find venues which are easily accessible for fishing. The reason being is my wife has joined me and she really want s to try it out (I've pre-empted and bought the licence for her) so I've bought her the gear but she is awaiting a new hip and therefore any fishing spots need to be near a parking spot. I'd love your suggestions. I know we have Rollesby Broad on the doorstep and we will use it, but I would like to go more for the main rivers so she can enjoy the variety of nature. Cheers and any suggestions will be much appreciated(unless rude LOL)

Hello and good evening.Hope you are well.All the venues me and CJ fish are very accessible as I also suffer with my hip due to a Scooter accident 40 odd year ago All involved NO walking or very little,There is good free parking outside the Swan pub at Horning,very good early morning or Evenings.Ludham Bridge is excellent parking and fishing as is Womack staith and cold harbor.May I suggest you buy yourself a NDAA ticket,£35 from Anglian Direct Wroxham or Norwich . Wroxham Broad is worth a try, excellent parking and fishing,In Winter time Wroxham town centre is exceptional fishing.Please don't hesitate to get in touch anytime.All the best.Randolph.

@@randolphmagee Thank you so much for the advice. I'm looking forward to Monday but also concerned, it's the 1st day she goes fishing with me with her own rod. I may have pushed to hard lol. It can go 3 ways, Rod for sale, I gain a rod or she plods along pretending to love me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@stevenphardiman5782 lol.Hope all goes well.My advice is to take a packed lunch,the Broads are expensive for food,and try Sweetcorn as well as maggots.Let us know how you both got on.Tight lines.🎣👍👍

Hi all, a little update. We went fishing yesterday(Monday 9th July) and ended up on the river in Potter opposite Norada Pub since we needed to get some bait and Branfords in Caister were unfortunately shut yesterday.. I didn't realise just how bad my eyes had gotten until I went to tie the hooks lol 🙂 Anyway, my wife did get tangled quite a few times but got a small roach on her 3rd cast. She managed to catch roach, perch and a little dace, nothing of any size but she was happy and probably managed to get about 15-20 in total, all on red/white maggots, sweetcorn just didn't seem to work. Size 16 hook in the hope of deterring the smaller stuff but they just seemed to be super greedy. We started with float but due to the depth and trying to hold bottom, in a very gentle flow, it led to an extremely long setup for her to deal with on her first try(somehow she managed to reel the float down past the top 3 eyes of the rod, twice) so we moved over to a simple ledger on the bottom and this seemed to produce as many, if not more fish as the float, and it's a method she soon learned to cast well most of the time and one she seemed to prefer. After quite a few un-tanglings, re-baiting(I will get her to put her own maggots on) and fish un-hookings(she will be doing this too) I eventually manged to get my own rig out and also ended up catching only small stuff, but it was nonetheless still a great deal of fun again and made me realise just much I've missed it. The good thing is (I think) my wife enjoyed it too and wants to go again. Thanks for the advice, tight lines everyone. Steve & Trudi

Fished that area of the Bure for over 20 years, but never seen a chub. Plenty of dace, but never a chub.

Hi i have a holiday staying in stalham and have hired a day boat , wheres best place to fish from the boat ?? Thanky
@randolphmagee6 ай бұрын
Hello.To be honest,if you're in a boat ,most places are worth a try,try and get into Hickling Broad and fish the boat dykes,it's a bit weedy on the broad itself,there's always Horsey Mere.AD&D Tackle at Ludham Bridge are well worth talking to,just give him a ring.All the best.Randolph.
@cjfishing176 ай бұрын
My best guess is anywhere that you can moor the boat! If I was on a boat in and around the broads I would try many diffrent free mooring locations and just fish off the back. Tight lines to you and enjoy your holiday! 🎣
