Tough luck, Clive, but I enjoyed that. As you say, who cares! It’s being there that’s counts. Cheers

It's ok mate, The Thames is a funny old river, thanks for viewing, I'm back on the river this coming weekend, for the Roach, if there not late lol.

Thank you, it was a lovely day and I met some really nice people, the fish are the bonus, not on the day, but it's fine, and that why I like to show to good days, and the blank days, but still enjoying the river.

Hi Clive. That’s an awful lot of river! Depending on the head of barbel present I would think the probability of your bait ending up in the ‘right’ place was quite low. From reading the history of Thames fishing, and I’m talking about distant history, the barbel anglers used to pre-bait with hundreds of worms over days to attract the fish to specific areas. That’s no longer really a practical option so I suppose it comes down to having some knowledge of the ‘hot spots’, if they exist. As always, very enjoyable watching you try and great observation on the swan. It would have been very unhappy about that dog if it’s head hadn’t been underwater at the time.🦢

Tough stretch that, I was there today with pellet for barbel / carp and a maggot feeder for anything. Blanked. Bloke two swims up was here for 2 weeks, nothing but a pike a few roach

Oh mate, really wow, not even a feeder Perch or Roach, that's not good news, but thanks for the info, we'll all the best for the next trip, keep me updated 👍 thanks.

No Tim, there was an angler on my left and apparently here was there two weeks and only had a Pike and a few Roach, but I will go back in August, there are a lot of good fish later.
