Its been a while since I last fished the River Thames at Walton for bream but with a few hours to spare, half a kilo of worms and a pint of maggots I decided to head back, but would they still be there?
Fortunately they were and for a couple of hours it was total carnage, yet come 8am you would have thought that there wasn't a fish in the river!
This video really shows the importance of getting to the river early and capaitalizing on the period the fish are feeding. Im not joking, if I had arrived at the river at 4am, wasn't taking this video coverage, a 100lb plus of big Thames bream would have been easily achievable, so if you want to see just how easy it is, this video shows just that.
Hope you enjoy and please remember to hit that subscribe button as Im really getting into making these short videos to help you catch more fish.
Tight lines and be Lucky,
Duncan

Really enjoyable video Duncan - a local spot to me, which makes it very relevant. makes a change from a lot of your other videos when you have Joe Public and other anglers 'bombing' your video production - handled most expertly !

I always like to be on the bank and ready to fish by the crack of dawn. Most times I've caught a full days fish by 9am so sometimes I get off and then come back at around 4ish and have an evening session as well especially when I'm Tench fishing.

me and a friend fished there a few weeks ago on a evening into dark session,i was in the same spot as you.very lively place to fish with more people about once it was dark?i wouldn't want to fish there after dark on my own,we had some nice roach in daylight but no bream then only 1 bream each at about 11pm.

Hello Duncan, fished that strech for some years used to live in hersam but I was upstream few weeks ago, are they up and down that stretch, think the overcast conditions help as well, thanks for this mate, and well done.

Hi Duncan , I don't use a keepnet , does it spook bream to be putting them straight back . Over the years I've different opinions.great vid mate.

Hi Dave, In general I don't use a keep net and put each bream back straight away but when creating a video or if I need to get a catch image for some reason then the keep net is used but only for the minimal amount of time and returning bream, especially in such a big river won't upset the shoal.

@@duncancharmanangling1136 thanks for that info Duncan, I fish the Trent and it always crossed my mind if it affected the shoal. But as you say the Thames and Trent are big rivers mate.cheers.

Upstream around the cut is, as we both know a barbel area but around the bridge? Maybe I should have said around the bridge is bream, bream and more bream with the odd catfish!
