Fishing the Shallows for Snapper and Trevally in Ngunguru

Fishing the Shallows with just the bare essentials to catch some very tasty table fish. This week I'm in Ngunguru just south of Tutukaka with the beautiful new boat. I'm joined by my friend Manu and our plan is to tuck right up in the shallows pump a berley trail and target some fat Snapper and Trevally for the Dinner. Small hooks, Pilchard cube baits and light Tackle are the weapons of choice in this session and the plan comes together beautifully. Another stunning friendly little slice of paradise here in our home New Zealand. Hope ya all enjoy this episode.

Lived in Ngunguru 15 years ago, Best time of my life. Hell, I drove a Lada Niva into the ocean after roo many horse races 😂 Used to see Bob daily at the dairy, Shelly at the fish shop, Oli the chef at rhe club, Rog at the pizza shop, Too many crawl homes from the RSA after Robin would destroy the pool table - RIP Robin - The hotel in Tuts wasn't built yet. Was treated like family, even tho I was a Yankee 😊 great people. Brings back lovely memories fishing off Goat Island, Ki Kite Ano

Always get a feed in that river opposite school in channel plenty of snaps 32 ----40 cm once took 7 snaps over 4 kg great when rough out front

Awesome spot bro. Went that same place recently. Locals call that spot “shark alley”. In summer sharks bask in the sun right there on the sand bank.
