The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

Do you use sandisk micro sd with gopro? If yes do you have any sd errors?
@Briggsy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, I use the fastest sandisks I can buy at the time, last batch were 256gb sandisk Extreme Pro [3] A2, haven’t had an issue but get gopro related issues like camera freezing and wont turn off without pulling the battery out, batteries expanding from the heat so much i rip the top off them when trying to remove em (have to dig it out with a hook), camera overheating, camera wont turn on unless you take the battery out and put it back in. All gopros have these kinda issues, some worse than others so I always try to buy the best mem cards available at the time to give the goie the best shot possible at doing what it’s meant to do haha

Only ever had a SD error on one old card recently, i think it got scratched so i got rid of it. Otherwise never had an problem with them 👍

are GT's that tough that a body hook is ok?
@Briggsy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, yeah a body hook up isn't much of a concern for a GT. They can have 1/3 of their backs bitten out by a shark and still grow up to be massive fish. I've seen chunks missing, big scars, missing fins etc. and they just carry on like it nothing. They're definitely one of the toughest fish in the sea!

I'm a bit confused why you fish from shore when you have a boat
@Briggsy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, it's hard to answer without offending anyone, I realise most my followers are probably boat fishermen and I have zero judgement on that, each to their own. Boat fishing is super fun and the few times I've done it I really enjoyed it, it felt like having cheat codes in a video game or something! Fish everywhere, you can go right to the best zones and pepper many different spots in a short period of time, it's awesome, you catch a ton of fish and its definitely a great experience but to be honest I don't get even a 10th of the feeling of reward boat fishing as I do from landbased fishing (especially with big fish). I could catch a 40kg GT from the boat and it mean not much more than cool photo and a hard workout, but catch the same fish from land and it would be a life changing event that I remember forever as one of the most rewarding moment of my life, up there with becoming a father (seriously). There is so much that can go wrong landbased fishing, it's extremely difficult, you have to cast for days at times to get a hook up on a pelagic or other sport fish, but the sense of achievement you feel when you finally land a big fish from shore is incomparable. I get that same sense of accomplishment from smaller fish from land but its more about specific species and how light the gear you land them on is. I honestly just love the challenge of it all with landbased and I can't get that same feeling when fishing from a boat.
@JeffSmith-eq3kc2 жыл бұрын
@@Briggsy thanks that explains it pretty damned well! I can certainly appreciate the difficulty factor and the sense of achievement. I think that's why we love to fish. Its the chase that means everything. Its interesting, I spent years saving up for a sport fishing boat and absolutely love being offshore but my most memorable fish came fishing from a pier in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Caught an 80lb Cobia that was cruising with a massive Ray. Took an hour to tire her out and get her in the net. Tried for almost another hour to revive her from the beach but she was spent. Ended up filleting her on the pier and handed out pounds and pounds of Cobia to the other guys. Had a great barbeque but I'd rather seen her swim off. Cheers.
@Briggsy2 жыл бұрын
Amazing story Mate 🤙 I caught a Cobia once years ago, they’re super rare in our area and almost unheard of landbased. Here’s the film on my old channel - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ22k32vmthgptk still one of my best fishing moments!
