Fishing The Surf and The Bay Galveston Texas

We hit Galveston Texas surf for a little kayak fishing, the surf was flat and the water was extremely clean. BUT Where were the fish? No bait no birds no luck. Kayak fishing the beachfront can be a lot of fun but not when they're not biting. After several hours we changed things up and hit the bayside for some inshore fishing, Galveston West Bay. Capt. Charles from Dirty Bay Fishing hooked up to a couple nice reds and a solid speckled trout. My day was cut short and I grinded out a few undersized fish for the day. It felt great to be back in the kayak fishing in Galveston, it's been awhile.

Im glad i found your channel brother. I moved to texas ( Austin ) in the early 90,s to play music. Any chance i got i would head to the coast to fish. Everywhere from rockport to Baffin bay. Had some unbelievable days chasing Trout and Red,s. All wade fishing. Dont live in Texas anymore but Watching your vids really brings back some great memories. Thanks bud !

I took the wrong life jacket with me. I typically take a normal jacket to the surf but took my regular inflatable one with me. If you ever had one of those inflate on you in water you can stand up in then you'll know why I took it off. Yes it can save your life but the water was so calm I wasn't worried about it. Coming back in I typically wait until the water is waste deep or less & I jump out & walk my kayak back in. Thanks for stopping by 🤙🏼

I was using 18 & 32 grams most of the day. Probably should have went a little lighter because I kept missing the bite, it would have slowed down my spoon when falling
