Have Musky fished on Eagle Lake in Ontario every year for the past 8 + years. PB is 49 inches. Netted a 51 inches. One year I caught 98 inches of musky in 5 casts! AWESOME.

Loved the fact he started with release tools. In addition to that, I would like to add that you NEED to have an understanding of how to physically handle muskies if you catch them. You can really hurt a muskie if you hold them wrong or grab them in the wrong spots. As big and ferocious as they are, they are a VERY fragile fish.

To add to the location question, two lakes in one state or even one county can have very different muskie population densities. I highly recommend checking your state DNR publications, local fishing reports, and ask local guides. Muskies are indeed very sensitive and need specific conditions to thrive, and in some cases the DNR management is a big factor. One lake may be a "pike lake" and another a "muskie lake" They're similar species to northern pike and pike are more "beginner friendly", so I personally hope to master pike fishing first before targeting muskie.

Leave it to a Minnesota fisherman to leave Wisconsin off of the Muskie fishing Meccas. Even though we have the world record and 5 of the top 15 Musky lakes in the country. Plus, it is our state fish. Take that Minnesota! 😆

It’s possible to catch them on anything. I’m just giving tips for the best ways to target them. If a 5in swimbait was the best way, the guides would be doing that. They aren’t

A medussa is not a swimbait for musky but rather a giant grub because it doesn't have any swimming motions😂 Also it wouldn't be considered a swimbait in the bass world
@TylersReelFishing4 жыл бұрын
I was just trying to put it in terms that a bass guy could understand. Sorry it didn’t fit your ideal description
@ibanez20104 жыл бұрын
Everybody else in the world, besides Sang, classifies Medussas as swimbaits. The guy literally has no idea what he is talking about...but he couldn't help making a public fool of himself, could he?
@sangvang19854 жыл бұрын
ibanez2010, I guess if I can work a grub in the upper water column then I guess it's classified as a swimbait🤔 I tried typing swimbaits through Tacklewarehouse and I don't see any cury tail swimbait but it's a different story when I typed grub🤷♂️
@ibanez20104 жыл бұрын
@@sangvang1985 Have you tried searching swimbait on a....musky tackle site? If you put a grub trailer on a swim-jig and continue to straight cast and retrieve is it no longer a swim-jig? Same principle applies here; you cast medussas out and swim them back. I think you are too hung up with the idea that it's only a swimbait if it has some sort of a paddle tail.
@sangvang19854 жыл бұрын
Ibanez2010, only a musky guy with throw a grub on a swim jig. In fact, they literally throw a grub on everything, such as a bucktails, jerkbaits, top water lures, and pretty much everything out of the tackle box🤣 Muskie guys love grubs so much that they invented a giant grub called the medussa and yes it is a giant grub that catch muskies👍
