Tournaments banning the A Rig because it’s to effective. Yet FFS is still allowed. Easy to see when tournaments get their money from.
@TylersReelFishing8 сағат бұрын
Banning the A-Rig was a state law issue with how many hooks you can have, not because it was too easy

My first lure I caught a fish on was a jig, been fishing since late June and caught 3 five pounders, first every fish was with a jig and i continued to use it and caught every fish in the beginning with it

I grew up fly fishing and it's been so long I dont remember what fly got me hooked, but when I moved to Virginia, I started using a spinning rod and going for Smallies. My first really big small was on a berkley swim jig just like the one in thumbnail. That was the hardest fighting fish I had ever caught, up to that point and I couldn't stop.

There wasn’t really any specific thing about fishing that got me. For me I didn’t grow up fishing, my uncle fished but he never really took me with him. For me it was an outlet, my father recently passed, I had recently got sober and was just going through a lot. One day tho I went camping and just caught a few bluegill and was hooked from then on, discovered bass fishing a little while after and it’s been an integral part of my life ever since

Cast with right arm, continue holding rod with right arm and use left hand to retrieve. No switching required 👍

I have a little pre-rigged berkley powerbait swimbait in pink…it just sits there. Don’t use it or really plan on it. It’s there because I remember being in a paddle boat on my lake growing up catching em with something very similar. Now I want to throw it after watching this lol

For me, I was basically born into fishing, nearly everyone in my family fishes, but I kinda completely love fishing these day's more than ever, since 2020 happened, & me, & my grandfather had nothing better to do than fishing, & when I started buying slightly higher end gear compared to what I used to use, I completely rekindled my passion for fishing, & now I have the best fishing luck in my family.

Probably like most people the lure that I caught the fever with was a rooster tail I (I was 10 years old) caught every thing on that lure I actually was using live worms and had ran out and was fixing to kick rocks back home and I found a rooster tail on bank and caught more fish than I had ever caught before.. Thanks for coming out again Tyler

What’s your opinion on the Lew’s Signature Series rods vs the Lew’s Custom Lite Series of rods as a whole? Looking at a 7’3” Medium Heavy Fast action rod.
@TylersReelFishingКүн бұрын
I like some actions of one over another. For the 7’3” MH though, I’d go custom lite
@Grantpa33Күн бұрын
Interesting! Figured you’d say the signature as that’s what you have in the video. What’s the main differences between the signature series and custom lite series?

Got my biggest bass was a stOrm swimm baits I found on the ground everyone told me it would never work. Now they are hooked up on pre rigged swimm bait's. They all work so nice. StOrm, 13fishing, rapla, crush city, what not to like. I only use a soft rod to keep them on not fast Action or stiff medium heavy power rod not good to use. The more moderate Action rod the better.

Great video Tyler! My lure was a Hula Popper. Funny thing was I didn't know how to fish it "correctly". I was working at a new Salvation Army Camp grounds back in 1979 before the camping season season started. I was the only "Youth Camp" employee and doing things like installing bathroom hardware in the brand new cabins as this was to be the first year at this camp. I had nothing to do after work, so a full time employee at the camp lodge offered to lend me his spinning rod and the lure he had tied on. A Hula Popper. He gave it to me with no instructions. Although I had fished with worms almost every day of the summer for 8 years when I was a kid, I hadn't fished at all since the 8th grade. I was 26 years old at the time. I cast it out and just began reeling it in between some lily pads. I think a bass just absolutely exploded on that lure on my first cast. I caught many fish that summer by just reeling it in. No popping and waiting involved. Just plain cast and retrieve. As I look back on it, I would say it worked kind of like a buzzbait. Those top water explosions that summer hooked me but good! I'm pretty sure I was hooked after my first fish. I took my first paycheck and bought a spinning rod, some Hula Poppers, Jitterbugs, and an awesome topwater lure called a Sputterbug. Since the boxes had instructions on them, I did start fishing them as they were designed and suggested, but at times, I still ran the Hula Popper back on a straight retrieve... and it still worked that way too! Happy Holidays and have a blessed Christmas!

Noticed you were fishing with the new Lews Custom Pro. I am considering buying one and I am wondering what you think about the reel compared to other Lews reels and is it really worth 280?
@TylersReelFishingКүн бұрын
It’s so crazy good. Now, is it $280 good? It’s better than the last version at $280, I promise you that. BUT the custom at $180 is an absolute steal. Make sure to access Tackle Warehouse through my link if you end up purchasing that!
