The 2 U shaped bracket pins that hold the front of the boat to the trailer are used to hold the bottom of the boat together when unfolded. They fit into the holes on the sides of the bottom of the boat's support ribs. The tongue of the trailer extends to be able to unfold the boat and launch it like a normal john boat from the trailer.

I honestly love this little foldable boat. I'm really intimidated by the thought of hauling around a big trailer with a big old boat on it, but I feel like I could handle this little pod pretty well, and you wouldn't even need a truck to haul it. It'd be able to fit in a garage easier than a non-folding john boat- heck, you could fit the pod into a lot of conventional storage units without much fuss, and possibly the trailer too, meaning that even someone with an apartment could have a fishing boat of their own. Love that.

For Norm's comment about the bullet weight being a little sharp on the tip sometimes from the metal casting, I always carry one of those really cheap Swiss Army knives and use the fingernail cleaning tool (both the pointy part and the emory board) to either stretch out or file down any burrs or sharp points.
