Always a good time with Smalls .. Flea markets are always a great place to find all kinds of great stuff . My brother went to the Peaches to Beaches yard sale last on the last day of it when people was packing stuff up and he bought a whole table full of fishing and hunting stuff for a $100 just cause they didn’t want to pack it up. But back to flea markets I have walked past the dumpsters at them and you will be surprised at all the stuff thrown away I got 5 or so tackle boxes full of stuff that was thrown away.. 👍👍Stay safe and Keep’em coming 👍👍👍

I let a younger fella try using my Shimano Bantam 10xsg baitcast and he couldn't figure out how to cast it. It has a push lever on the upper side of the reel. I have to admit that it was funny watching him trying to figure it out. Great video Smalls.

Ultra mag was the shiznit back in the day! I’m 55. In the early 90’s my grandfather gave me that same real I’m almost certain. It was the best thing in my arsenal. FYI ( pistol grip rods were not from the 60’s, we used the almost exclusively in the 80’s and early 90’s)

I spent more than a day doing it but this is how I got my first baitcasting setup; flea markets and antique malls. Hunting up all the gear was fun and I ended up with higher quality stuff than I think I would've paid for if I bought it new. I don't know what year it's from but my favorite bit is an all polished aluminum tackle box. It looks like if Airstream made fishing gear.

I love used vintage tackle! I usually find 75% of my lures in the rocks or i snag them. And theyre usually the type of lure you need for that particular spot too. I went snorkeling around a fishing pier one time and made out like a total bandit! Sometimes i replace the hooks but they're fine a lot of the time. Just a soak in soapy water cleans em up. Ill lose a lure then find 3 more same day. Its like a global lure sharing system.

Great video. I have the eel in my tackle box and I finally retired my Berkley Light reel (no parts available). I had the reel set up with a light action rod and it would throw a 1/16 spinner bait a fair ways. Probably caught several hundred fish on it over the years. You need to do an ugly lure contest. Have your subscribers send you some or buy some and then have a fish off with them. If you do, let me know I have some really strange lures!

Pflueger fly reel was my first one my dad had one too. I think I paid like $100 for a combo on sale with a rod tube at a shop in Denver when I lived there. Kinda gave up on using a fly rod after some dummy was running and stopped right behind me and the line wrapped around.here. After that I only used one in a boat.

Pretty sure that bait casting rod/reel combo came from the early 80's. My dad still has his with the tip broke off from a door in the milk shed. I've boughten him like five combos throughout the years and thirty years of lures to make up for it.

Bro all my hobbies are expensive… fishing-hunting-race cars-overland-car detailing-wood working-boats… You should do some video with a 6 colors spin wheel. You get to pick out 12 different baits 2 of each color and fish it till you catch a fish then spin for a different color or different bait. Or have a subscriber bait off for a tournament. We send you baits you have to pick blindfolded and only choose 6 to fish with that day.
