I've never put my weight above my bobber lol. That makes no sense and I've definitely never strung my hooks above my sinkers. Maybe other people have luck doing it bass ackward. Lol

It works OK for rocky bottom situations where a more traditional slip weight, barrel swivel, leader, hook set-up (Carolina Rig) would end up snagged a lot (boring physics stuff) or a if you're in a thick "scuzzy" type bottom situation to keep in touch with the weight to feel a bite but not have your bait bogged down in the muck as soon as ya take a few cranks. These are mostly Asian Carp type rigs. The soup can top "Blade Bait" if ya do it a little better than they did here will slay Bass in cold weather, or inshore specs like Redfish aka Red Drum and Sneaky Snook. You can fish em through all kinds of Hell cuz if ya lose one, you're only out about 25-50 cents ... a treble, a couple split rings, and some lead ... something to do in a pinch. I've caught Trout and Smallies on a hook with gum wrapper foil, or cigarette pack liner would work too, and a split shot ... I just wanted to see what would happen using junk from the shoreline. Caught a nice Largemouth once on the same rig but with a busted pink balloon knot instead of the foil wrap 🤣 Ya can't make that kinda stuff up ... who'd wanna ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I was bummed the screenshot thumbnail thingy wasn't even in the dang video 😂 Looks like another take on a "Bait Keeper" aka doughball hook ... I bet ya can toss it a mile though 😆 Just thought I'd throw it out there for a fellow fish hunter ... I kinda dig learning stuff I'll probably never use though, so maybe you or someone else will ... it's the Trout that counts though right? Wait ... is that right? @@mr.e695 lol idk man, but I've fished about every muck muddy pond lake and spillway here in southern ohio even the river and I've only fished the only way I know that works for me and that's with my bobber floating above my sinkers and my hooks baited below the sinkers and I've slammed nice fish all my life like that and I'm 41 years old. Only thing different I do if I'm fishing bottom for like catfish I use chicken liver and pantyhose. Always take the pantyhose and wash it with mud first and rinse the mud out of course. But the mud covers the new clothing smell or laundered smell ya know. But after you cut a piece of hose you hook it on first centered then your chicken liver then begin wrapping and covering the liver with the pantyhose and make sure to hook it each time so the liver is secure and the hook is barely showing. I've slammed some big channel cats like this. Biggest one I've seen caught using this method was a 73lb shovel head my buddy caught at a fishing tournament back years ago. Was a great night fishin, drinkin and hanging with the buds.
