Hi Alan, Great video, shows that you don't need to travel far to catch fish. Even though we don't have much choice. Also that lot of fish for a 2 hour session. Any tips to get the fish to come to you?
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nicky, I'm doing my best in tough circumstances. There is always an element of luck when fishing, during this session we caught only 1 fish in the first 30 minutes than 15 fish in the following 90 minutes. I spoke to others who went to the same spot later that day and caught nothing. I wish I had a secret that made the fish start biting. Its just a case of rigging up correctly and doing all the little things right and hoping the rest falls into place. I hope that helps. best regards Al

Hey Allen would it not be good to have some lakes that will let us release the carp to grow to the big size we see in Europe and actually make it a real fishery and we can get more people into fishing?
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 3 жыл бұрын
Its a really interesting idea. I know lot of people hate carp passionately and the thought of releasing them will anger them. I tend to agree with you i think in certain lakes in a controlled way it could work really well. Have programs built around educating people and taking kids to a spot where they can easily catch big fish. Its always a very interesting topic.

@fishingmad

Yeah i usually take a few garbage bags and dispose of them in the bins nearby. That way they dont need to go in the car. Some lakes actually have bins for the carp. People used to say take them home and use them as fertilizer. I did that once and can report they don't decompose

I used to use maggots for bait for everything. Bream, Mullet, Gars, trevally, and freshwater too. Carp, Roach and Tench loved em in the warm months. And I used to use Carp to breed my own maggots. It wasn't very pleasant and now I wonder how my mum and dad put up with the smell of rotten, fly infested carp hanging in the back yard!

Hi Alan some great catches there i understand the rule that we can't put carp back because to protect our native species but when we are fishing in a pond or small lake where manly the only fish that would be living there would be carp so that's were that rule doesn't make sense in my opinion because once we remove all carp there be nothing there for us to catch at least they give us excitement
@fishingmad
@fishingmad 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with your comment. In a residential lake that only has carp and no native species I think we should have the option to put them back in. And encourage locals to fish those areas. But the current rules are very clear that no carp can be returned to any waterway.

I live not far from Manor Lakes (Wyndham Vale). I can understand how the Manor Lake (?) can get crappy fish in it as its fed, I think off of Lollypop Creek which is an old water way. But there's a lot of man made duck poop filled lakes and ponds made for housing estates that have fish in them. One I know of is up on a hill and isn't very big at all and it still has Carp in it. HOW THE HELL do they get fish in them? I know some people like to catch and eat Carp. Are they deliberately putting Carp eggs in these small duck ponds? I thinks after humans have died out the world will be populated by cockroaches and CARP!

well i hope you all in Melbourne remember what Andrews did, and vote him out, us country people are as further away or more than you people in Melbourne are, and Andrews wouldn’t et us go far either, and Andrews doesn’t care about us country people, as we dont have enough votes to worry him. Remember he said i do not understand why for any reason anyone needs too fish. That’s it he doesn’t get we supply food too our families. He is letting duck season open for 20 days, 2 per day, no teal, which is the main species we take in Victoria. how can we feed a family on 2 ducks, and 95% we can’t hunt, and fishing ect is next, you heard him, no reason to fish at all!!!!!!! Eg: imagine if he banned all speciesof fish, and let you only take 2 whitting a day for 20 days for the year, and you could only fish 5% of the sea water in victoria only on the southern most coast. That’s what he has done to duck hunting. Fishing is next the labor greens want it all banned.you seen the crazy marine parks, propergandah is used, and greens are winning hands down.
