Crappie fishing the shallows on the north end of a lake during cold snaps is the best piece of advice I've ever heard on KZbin and I know it's true. Keep up the great videos Richard. 👍

Thanks for the video with you fishing from the bank, Richard. Not all of us have boats and I know there are plenty of fish closer to shore. As my dad use to say, “All the boat fishermen come close to shore and those on the bank want to go out to deeper water.”

Yes this!!! And fish as deep as u want. U can fish on the bottom of a 50 foot lake with a cork and casting if u needed to. It's the best option because crappie often sit 10 through 20 foot deep around here in Louisiana. I'm sure they would be close to the same anywhere else right?

I’ve been fishing all my life and I’ve always caught fish. But I must admit watching your videos has broadened my perspectives on a fundamental level, and I find sentiments you’ve expressed come to me at very opportune times. Here in Michigan I’ve just recently stowed my gear for the year but I have to share my whole post autumn season has been absolutely epic. Must’ve caught well over a hundred crappie over three weeks averaging 12”. Even put three pike approaching 3’.

Yo’ @@thefishingpol ....about 20 of them pushing 14”. Just couldn’t break the 14.5” mark. Lost one crappie right at boat side that probably hovered around 16”. The pike I caught this past season were all caught on ultra light crappie gear as well, four of them ranging between 34” to 37”. Had a couple of epic walleye evenings as well. The late fall surprise extended season just kept getting better and better. ...About an hour west northwest of the D.

So grateful Richard! As you may have read from my other comments, I love spinners and Crickhoppers for bass, crappie, and bluegill from the bank, but really want to learn how to use jigs and become a more well rounded angler. Ever catch any Bass fishing this way? I fish a slow moving river I am thinking about using this technique with a little heavier gear for bass. Hard to cast just a jig, lots of wood and sticks. I could drift a jig right next to the wood and probably get bass come out of the wood for a look/see.

Hi Richard! My grandpa calls that technique SNITCHN'! LOL Anyway, you do provide some great detail in what you are using, water temp, etc. I have noticed though in bank fishing videos you don't often tell us how deep the water is and what kind of bottom there is. I would very much appreciate it if you could add those details when bank fishing. Like if its a shallow bay with pea gravel, mud, rocks, etc. Thanks Richard! Tight Lines!
