I live on a SS budget, and treat myself when I can to something really nice and I don't feel a bit of regret about it because after 69 years, I deserve it. When I was your age, I didn't have the opportunity to do what you're doing with your life and career. Don't second guess your decisions. You're a smart gal, and you're doing good for yourself. You know what you're doing. Sure, you'll make some mistakes but you'll learn more about yourself when you do and you'll do better the next time. The site you were on is major IMPRESSIVE and I would have stayed awake all night just to enjoy the tiki bar, the TV, and the lights!!!

@ We’s ya peeps. lol. Thanks for that. I might gather a few and do what you’ve suggested and splurge for a few nights. My Mom’s up in Mass so I ought to go visit her despite the cold. I shouldn’t complain as I grew up in NY / NE winters. I’ve been spoiled by Floridian and Aussie weather. Now, I know there’s still A LOT to see in North America, but once, just once, travel down under. I never knew that they had snow skiing in the southeast, rainforests up north, amazing and I mean amazing fishing. Plus they have a lot in terms of gathering supplies, Costco, Target, Kmart and others that we’re not familiar with like Coles and Woolworths ( not the old five and dime stores, but full-fledged supermarkets). The small-town feel is cool too outside of the cities. Anywho, say shudduo Adam). I might listen. Lol I hope you’ve made it back to your better half safely. Take care.

We were seasonal campers at a resort that has a lake, beach, marina, pool, restaurant, activity centers, bands on the weekends, golf course, splash pad, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a store. We paid about 2k for 7 months, including water and electricity. 300 per night is outrageous.

I have dogs, 4 in fact, so I measure how good some place is by how they treat my dogs when I'm travelling. So the fact that they were so nice to Sky is important. That place does look beautiful and I was thinking, too bad Maria and Taz weren't with you!! Hope you had safe travels back home.

If you should happen to be in Jacksonville before you leave Florida, you should check out Huguenot Memorial park, fish right from your campsite. Hanna Park is really good too. Little Talbot Island is another one

LOL I swear Goldens think they're part human. They think other dogs are cute but quickly grow tired of them. Although seeing how Taz totally lights up around Skye is awesome! It's funny you're at that RV Park, my brother and his family originally had rented an RV specifically to go there, but wound up driving all the way down to the Keys where they all fell in love with the area. My brother and his wife had chosen to retire in the Key when it came to be that time but as fate would have it, my sister in law passed away rather young. So, my brother packed up his two very young teen daughters, bought a sail boat and lived on Marathon Key for the next ten years. I have to say, after having visited them down there, it's totally a vibe! Now I understand why they wanted to live there.

HAHA, funny to see people in the comments freaking out about $300/night. Margaritaville is like bottom of the low end resort camp sites. There are so many camp sites here in FL, where the wait list a is a year+. Not only that they don't list the prices online. You have to qualify before they will even allow you to put down a deposit. To qualify you have to have a certain year camper/vehicle and pass inspection on entrance. They also have you provide proof of income. Then on top of it, you can't just rent one night at a time. You usually have to rent 3-6+ weeks.

I like soft surface for my RV spot, ie…..grass, dirt. Too much tile to walk on and hot. I live in Daytona area. We mostly RV in State parks. We have to reserve 11 months in advance, but they are clean, fun, and cheap. But occasionally I like to splurge also. Love your channel.

In the early 90s, before the Internet was widely available I bought a brand new pickup and pop-up camper - so proud of myself! Made a springtime reservation at a campground/resort on the east coast of Florida. After driving down from NY I pull up to the entrance gate, the attendant looks at us, snickers and says " We don't allow THOSE in our resort" and sent us on our way with no place to go!!!

If you have a chance to go to the Hatteras KOA in Waves, North Carolina you get some of the same amenities maybe a smaller site… but with beach and sound access!! We love it there. Almost always a breeze even in July and very few bugs!

All I need is two trees and a hammock, which ironically was there.While the place is nice, if I can see my neighbors while camping they are to close. Pavers, golf carts and the highway noise are all killers of my nature buzz. I think you hit the nail on the head when suggesting getting a group together to rent for several days. That and I couldnt tell you when the last time I washed one of my vehicles that we use for camping.

Born and raised in Florida, but never stayed at that one. I full time in a teeny tiny 14’ travel trailer. Stayed at the Margaritaville in Breaux Bridge Louisiana for nearly a week this last summer for just under $30 a day. If they had all of those same rules, they must have not cared because my tow vehicle is a dirty 2006 Econoline with over 100 stickers on it 😂

Also, if anyone has issues or doesn’t want to pay out the butt to stay at Jimmy Buffet Land down there in Florida, Lake Louisa State Park is in Clermont and is beautiful. Kissimmee Prairie Preserve SP is a couple hours south and is by far my favorite campground ever. Those are more “nature” than “amenities”, but they’re amazing places.

The way these places start is they're really expensive, but it comes with tons of things included. Then new management starts charging for everything individually, but it doesn't cost less. Then they raise the prices for all the items bc of maintenance. Then they raise the price of the experience, in this case the campsites, due to increasing labor costs. Then they sell it.

Omg!!! That’s a lot of $$$ for a camping spot. I am the queen of discount lol. You could buy a couple nights at a very bougie hotel room for that price. I live in Kansas but I go camping down in Missouri because i absolutely love Kaplinger Mills near Stockton Lake. Kaplinger Mills is on the river there and they have float trips and amazing fishing and even cabins you can rent for super cheap. It’s nothing like this place you stayed in. I love watching you and I watch Maria (Roaming Reckless) also and I would love to camp with y’all. Looks so fun. I always pray for y’all to be safe and have fun. I spend the winter 10 miles south of Margaritavile in Fort Myers Fl,. Went there for a part of a day, it is the most UN, Jimmy Buffet place I've ever seen. You will not get a Buffet vibe at Margaretaville, Save your money go to Sloppy Joes in KW or Put in Bay in Lake Erie.

OK sure the site costs vary based on the week, but I looked up rates for 1st week in March ad they were starting at a little over 100 per night with cabins for 200 per night. Not bad when you consider the price of hotels in the area. You have to remember this is the attraction area.

It was nice to see you experience this campground! We’ve never tried the site you had because of the price though…next time if you go try the doggie bath spa our two furbabys love it! My dad sold everything he owns and moved from new england to a margaritaville neighborhood in Florida. Their gated neighborhood called latitude is all pastel houses with pineapple cutouts in the shutters. It's like stepping into another world. Absolutely love it there.

so many campgrounds have turned into anything but a campground. High prices. If your rig is over 10yrs old etc not allowed. I have a friend with a rig he paid 375k for 10yrs ago and he travels due to being retired. His unit is like new. He has been turned away when they ask for registration and see how old it is. And it doesnt have to be a high class place. Some have been just normal average places

Did you ever watch that TV show called “The Neighbors” ? They all lived in a community and all had golf carts. All the new neighbors were aliens with names of famous athletes. I thought it was a funny show. The place ur are staying st reminds me of it. Lol

It's only worth the money if you have a family that can utilize the facilities. I agree, they could throw in a golf cart for that price. Also a doggy day care might be nice, even if it costs a little bit. Would have liked to see the camp store.

I'm honestly surprised they let you in. I've heard of RV parks that don't let in trailers or even class A's that are older. I've spent close to that years ago to be on the beach in North Carolina. Yes, lots of amenities for those with money, how America rolls. It's nice for a change, but have found those aren't my people.
