You brought up a great point. It's not really weedless. I've seen videos claiming it's more weedless, but the tiny tag end on a tiny knot lead to a 1/2 oz jig head and a 4/0 hook. Even an FG knot picks up those fine strings. Better off going with the stronger Figure of 8.

Hey Bobby!! YESSSSSS A man after my own heart!! I can't agree with you more! If you are fishing in heavy weed you are going to pic some up, its just not possible that a knot will prevent weeds.... weedless hooks help, but not so much the knot... And your 100% right, I'd always rather go with a stronger knot than a weaker one, especially if you are fishing around heavy weeds or cover... nothing is worse than breaking off a fish due to a knot failure, its the worst. Thanks so much for the comment Bobby... Have you been using the Figure of 8 knot?? Most people have no idea that knot exists, and its awesome!! I'd love to hear how you've made out with that knot... thanks so much!

@@Johnnyfishalot I've always used a basic surgeons knot to create a loop for sinkers and the non slip loop for jigs. Winter in NY, so not a lot of fishing, just planning. But I will be using the figure 8 in the future. I've got a little time to practice it. 😆I like fishing top water or mid column and those lures (Nomad, Yo Zuri and even bucktails.) get pretty expensive. Bad or weak knots is pretty costly.

@@bobbyk3469 oh yeah... 1000000% agree. not only will you loose a big fish, but the money in your pocket haha (well stated!!). Yeah I can't wait to hear how you like the figure of 8 loop knot... I've been using it for years with big fish in thick cover (like carp fishing) and it hasn't failed me yet. Thanks so much... keep me posted!!!
