What a load of rubbish. Black drum are one of the best-eating fish out there. Any idiot knows not to eat the monsters. Just came back from a 3-day trip to the Laguna Madre where we caught our limit on black and red Drum.
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 20 күн бұрын
Hey David... thanks for watching... Not rubbish at all, where I am you only catch the monsters and so many people keep them needlessly... the fish are old, nasty, and got plenty of worms in them... If your catching some puppy drum down south and you enjoy the taste... more power to you. The only way to make black drum 25lbs and above taste decent (at all) is by that technique you see in the video... My point for folks up North here is to let these fish swim. Thanks again for watching... glad to hear you enjoyed your fishing trip... try out the recipe I shared if you interested and let me know how it tastes... thanks again. Happy New Years.

Uglysticks are garbage
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 20 күн бұрын
Hey Morgan... thanks for watching... totally disagree. Statements like that are what bassmaster classic people want you to believe so they can get you hooked on more expensive gear. As you saw in the video, ugly sticks are perfect for kids, beginners, ultralight applications, more experienced fishalots fishing with soft baits, bottom fishing, bait fishing etc... Most ugly sticks are moderate action rods which gives you a huge advantage in most situations over all that terrible advice out there telling you to go extra fast action all the time. Ugly sticks definitely have a place in most people's fishing arsenals, especially if they fish for different species other than largemouth bass with extra fast action rods all the time. Hope that helps... thanks for watching.

Now I can stop using a swivel to attach the braid onto the leader 🤣 is it still necessary to use a swivel on a lure?
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 20 күн бұрын
Hey @supersonic249... Thanks so much for tuning in and the comment... Though I do tie many line to line connection knots I also still use swivels for various fishing applications. These knots are really good if your looking to be able to reel the line in through the guides... For lures, I'm assuming your talking about your leader material... Again, you can use both swivels and line to line conneciton knots. It just depends if you plan to reel the line in through the guides when you are fishing. Thanks so much for the comment. and for tuning in. I really appreciate it.

nice technique two alternaive half hitches make clove hitch , ideal for securing the knot cinching down , tips , tug repeatedly on both braids to stop unravelling and watch for colour change in braid , keep tugging until it changes or your using too many wraps love the way you trim prior to doing your Rizzuto but at the end of the days its still a standard FG , cinched down properly, 10 to 15 wraps is adequate Thanks for sharing

Hey Marc!! Thanks so much for watching and the comment... I definitely agree with you the FG is my preferred knot as well. I'm sorry you had such a frustrating time with the alberto knot. I agree there is less steps, but I actually find the alberto more complicated because if a mistake is made even slightly through the knot tying process the knot will absolutely slip!! If tied correctly the knot will be strong, but you are 10000% correct, the FG knot is way stronger and in my opinion easier to tie as well. Great shout!! Thanks for watching!!

Piscifun reels are made in China, make your own conclusions
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 25 күн бұрын
Hey @yanshtublberg725... Thanks for the feedback. SOOOO Many Reel manufacturers have the majority of their reel production from China. Beloved PENN reels are all made in China except the Senator and International reels (a super small quantity of their overall reels). Very Very few Shimanos are made in Japan (Stella is one of the last remaining reels still made in Japan), but most are now made in Malaysia and China. The famed Curados, STradics, Sustains, etc are all made in Malaysia and China... Even High end reels like Van Staals are made in china (very good and durable reels by the way)... Companies like Pflueger, KastKing, Abu Garcia, Penn, and Diawa reels are all making the majority of the reels in China. Diawa reels are the exact same. A matter of fact PISCIFUN uses the same manufacturing factory in china as Diawa does. The reels are also built with similar heavy duty but light weight metal materials which make the reels so desirable. The important aspect of fishing reel manufacturing has nothing to do with where the reel is actually made, but has everything to do with product material control, reel design, and quality control of the manufacturing/final products themselves. For good companies this all comes from the parent company. Companies like Penn, Shimano, Diawa, and of course PISCIFUN all have very strict quality controls to make sure the best products are reaching the markets for consumers. I hope that helps some of the confusion there.
